'The Yo-Yo maneuver is very difficult to explain. It was first perfected by the well-known Chinese fighter pilot Yo-Yo Noritake. He also found it difficult to explain, being quite devoid of English.

So we left it at that. He showed us the maneuver after a sort. B*****d stole my kill.'

I am actually starting to dread this as I know I'll buy another unneeded mini. I don't use the 3? 4? I have, but they're so darn cute! Ugh! Would be fun to identify/introduce ourselves...if interested.

TXKat, If you are looking for some mini pens that are not Twsbi's I will have a lot of them there. Pilots, a Sailor, Online, Platinum and two chinese pocket pens.

I know Anderson pens will be carrying them. They are amazing pens, easy to clean, well built and multiple screw in nib units to choose from and amazing ink wells. I hope to carry them next year.

Twsbi's are great pens. It surprises me how well they write. In many cases much better than some much more expensive pens that I own.

Octo, will you be there, all the way from Celestine? I missed last year as I was working out of town during the show.

Omg, pakmanpony...I may have spoken to you in person!

Sent Danny an email earlier this week warning him about a pen needing fixed, but requiring a unique sac. He does amazing work. Guess I know he's coming for sure - Yay! Lol!

If anyone has BungBox ink they want to sell, please bring it. It would be great to have some other rare ink there to go along with the Akkerman that is sure to show up.

I am going to try to drive up from Waco on Saturday, if I'm not overwhelmed with house/garden projects. I've missed the last three, and I hate that.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
