Gorgeous pens, Gary!

Did a great job on them.....

What nib sizes are available for them?

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

They have fine, medium, broad, Fine Italic and Broad Italic available at the moment, not sure why but no Medium Italic.

Are these the old type nibs?

They only have a few left, probably not enogh to offer the whole range. On the Chruchill LE there were no italics at all.

Is it possible to have a nib done by John Sorowka?

I would love to have the blue and gold one, but alas no money.... Money makes the world go round......

All coming with the new style nibs now and received the five different grades today, but yes it is possible to get John to do a nib if required.

Another reason to visit Sarj at DC - just to see these pens in person!

Looking for an Omas Arco Verde...the one that got away.

The blue (lapis?) with gold is my favourite too. Unfortunately, I've already spent my pen budget for the next several months.

Insurance deductible wiped out my pen budget. Waaaaaaaaaaa! I keep looking at the cases of new flooring & seeing multiple pens. Sniff, sob

Congratulations on 100 years of trading in Sheffield. My husband works in Sheffield and he often pops in to get me bits and bobs. I was able to visit the shop myself in April and had to be dragged out as family were waiting. I wish I could afford one of these pens, but sadly, cannot.

I have the lapis with Simpole band. That is one sweet pen that I'll use and treasure for many years to come! Gorgeous work and a fitting tribute to 100 years for F. G. Thomas Pens. And those of us who have dealt with Gary Ellison know what a fine and generous soul he is!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
