Americans And Canadians, Trade Proposal Akkerman For Mb Swift

As I mentioned here, I really would like to have a bottle of Mont Blanc Jonathan Swift. They seem to have sold out everywhere, except this store in the US which (as they have confirmed) only ships to the USA and Canada. But here's my plan: if anyone in either the US or Canada is willing to buy the bottle and then trade it for any bottle of Akkerman ink of your choice, two people will be happy ;) Akkerman is around 16 euro a bottle and the Swift goes for 20 dollars, so that seems like a good deal. Who'd be willing to make the trade?

I would!

LOL OK - at least we know we can trust each other. Which Akkerman would you like? I'll send it together with my next letter.

Pulchri Pink! :D

I've regretted not getting that one with my order of 150 ml bottles, but at least I can still get it in the 60 ml version. I'll order the Swift now.

One Pulchri Pink coming right up. Of course I will be wanting a bottle of Akkerman for myself too now, so have to think for a few hours about what colour it will be. Shocking Blue, Chinatown Red or Oranje Boven are strong contenders, although I have a bottle of orange Iroshizuku coming as well (you might notice I am hoarding pens and ink before the birth of our baby). I am really into orange these days for some reason.

Ah no it will be my first Akkerman, would you believe it. Swift is also green but more grey green I think. Will consider it!

I'd love to get in on this too! I actually have two bottles of Swift sitting around that I have never used. I bought three, ended up not loving it, and set two aside to sell. :) hopefully swanjun will vouch for me! :P

Hi Saskia, I've thought about getting another bottle, but for the moment one should be enough - I'd first want to try it out. I would like to help you though, so let me get back to you if I do want to get another bottle. Sorry for now!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
