Pilot Pen If Ever I Go Back To The Land Of The Rising Sun Without Otaku Spending 91 Or 912

If ever I find myself craving for a personal pen again... (no more buying pens for family members if anyone is wondering)

I already own a CH 91 and I seriously love the pen but because of the limits of my EDC of 2 pens... I have to temporarily retire it for now

Custom Heritage 91 or a Custom Heritage 912 the difference is that

Custom Heritage 91 has a number 5 nib and also has a broad selection of nibs

EF, SF, F, FM, SFM, SM (My current nib), B and BB (This is only for the black color which I like)

or the Custom Heritage 912 which has a number 10 nib with

EF, SF, F, FM, SFM, SM, B, BB, PO (I seriously don't know what that stands for), FA (Falcon), WA (I do not know either), SU (again I have no idea), C (Calligraphy), MS (Music)

both are C/C pens and can take Con-70 the 912 already comes with it according to Pilot's site

Price:

Custom Heritage 91 is about 10000 yen +700 yen for the converter without consumption tax

Custom Heritage 912 is about 20000 yen excluding the 8% consumption tax

with that price btw both are also 14K rhodium plated gold nibs

and If I will buy from Ito-ya it's going to end up having another pen pouch LOL

again hopefully if I end up in Japan no Otaku spending for me... hopefully

I'd go 912 since you already have a 91. Plus the 912 has more nib options.

Po=Posting, extra fine down turned nib

Su=Sutab (sic), stub

Wa=Wavily(sic), nib with upturn for smooth writing (fine/medium line) like Sheaffer Triumph and Inlaid nibs

Definitely get the 912. I have a 742 with a PO nib and I loooooooooooove it

but I don't think that the nibs are springy or flexy compared to the soft versions right?

looks like I'll be sitting down and try those nibs huh... I hope when I come back I'll not be in a rushed state

so its either an FA or a PO

They are springy but aren't flexy

The FA nib has more flex than the Namiki (Pilot) Falcon but it tends to skip much more when pushing it

yeah I was also thinking about the Elabo but if the FA nib is more flexy than the Elabo then I guess that's going to be the pen for me but will see since I would probably be testing the pens and nibs anyway before I decide on the purchase, my experience with the Soft nibs have been great thus far I don't like to dis but I find Pilot nibs to be better in the soft category compared to Platinum

I own a Pilot CH 912 with a PO nib. One of the finest nibs I own on a modern pen and it's cheaper in JP than imported. Great nib if you like needlepoint writers.

when I finally thought about it I also bought my brother a CH 91... but he doesnt use it... man I could have ended up myself a CH 912 with 20K yen when I bought 2 pens... but then again this is my first time buying a Pilot pen so I had to get a proper feel of the pen first CH 91 for me wasnt a regret buy... I just wished they were available in my country as well as other pilot pens <_<
