Akkerman Ink Group Buy - Delivered At Dc Pen Supershow

Recommended Posts

I am organizing an “Akkerman Ink Group Buy,” to be delivered in person at the upcoming DC Pen Supershow (Tyson’s Corner Sheraton Premiere). If I get “pre-orders” for 30 total bottles, the price would be $20 per 60ml bottle in an Akkerman ink color of your choice, delivered on Friday afternoon and/or late Saturday morning of the show, August 8-9. “Pre-orders” are being accepted within nine days from today or when we reach a total of 30 bottles, whichever comes first. I would like to place the ink order to Akkerman by June 14th to ensure I receive these in time for the show, and hopefully to prevent a significant change in exchange rates between this estimate and the order.

Please let me know via PM if you are interested and I will reply with additional details.

Thanks,

Jared

So far we've got one bottle of #8 Diep-Duinwaterblauw pre-ordered.

I sure wish that it could be "delivered" by mail...DC is just a little too far from little ol' Meridian, Idaho for me to pop in (but I'd really, really, really like to!)

I'm adding more time for this group buy as I understand that Akkerman ships quickly and I want to give folks more time to see this opportunity and decide. I now plan to place an order on June 21st, so folks have until then to decide.

Akkerman inks are available in the US through Vanness Pen Shop in Arkansas. I do believe that they'll ship you ink, but it won't be the $20 per bottle deal that's offered here.

Yes, I know. That's what I was kind of lamenting. I don't begrudge them the need to make a profit, though. I shall just grit my teeth and place my order.

If you are thinking of buying a couple of bottles, just buy directly. If you will be in DC for the pen show, join the group buy.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

You should try to reach 14 bottles by June 14. The shipping charges jump from 5 bottles to 6 and then again from 14 bottles to 15 bottles. Right now you are in a higher bracket with the minimum amount of bottles = not cost efficient. With 14 bottles you will remain at the same shipping bracket = much better. :D

Well, I just had the "talk" with my husband. And *he* said, "I thought you *were* planning to go to DCSS this year...."

So WHEEEEEE!! Looks like I'm in! Of course I still have to make hotel reservations.

Now I just have to figure out which inks I absolutely HAVE to have... I *had* narrowed it down to two specific ones, and then was going to choose from a small subset for a third. But I just looked at the color chart more carefully

Rats. Now I have to go search through the Ink Review Forum all over again. Because I really can't afford to get *all* the ones I want.... And still have *some* spending money for pans and to maybe have some of the repair people look over a couple of ones I already have. So I have to figure out what goes into that coveted third slot.

Obviously I need to win the lottery. Soon. Or stop reading this forum -- I get too easily distracted by the "ooh, shiny". There's just too many enablers around here.
Now I'm starting to feel like a judge at a beauty pageant; wonder which ink gets to be Mr/Ms Congeniality (or would that be "Congenialinkty")?

Sigh.

Well, even though he teases you about the quantity of pens and ink, you have a keeper (enabler). If you love blues - #5 Shocking blue is the best seller.

I'm giving folks more time to submit orders, but it seems like the more bottles ordered (up to 30), the bigger the discount. I'm hoping to keep the cost at $20/bottle, which is a great deal for such a unique bottle & ink.

For those who have wondered about payment, it's $20 cash upon delivery Friday afternoon or late Saturday morning of the show. I'm taking a bit of a chance in pre-ordering before receiving payment, but you're a trustworthy bunch.

Now we're up to 9 Akkerman 60ml bottles pre-ordered for the upcoming DC Supershow:

#8 Diep-Duinwaterblauw (3)

#9 Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indigo

#10 IJzer-Galnoten bl/zw

#13 Simplisties Violet

#15 Voorhout Violet

#23 Bekakt Haags

#24 Zuiderpark Blauw-Groen

Let me know if you'd like to pre-order any of these cool bottled inks.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
