Haha, at this rate, all you'll need to master is offhand flourishing and border-making if you want to get into the business of making certificates from scratch. Now that would be a great way to kill time :P

Cheers!

Kevin

Thank you Kevin

Now I exactly learning what you say border-making.

I self-learn so I find some doc from the interner, I think it's useful for me.

May you like it:

I am Flabergasted! Your style of writing is amazing! In my dreams I do not even come close to your mistakes.

How long does it take to write a page like that?

Dear Zaphod_Beeblebrox: I just know and learn to write at about 1,5 year only. I begin from Business cursive - Italic - Roman - Gothic - Fraktur - Dip-pen. All the document I load from the internet ( all is free ).

I practice at about 1 hour a day, I want to prove one thing: I'm a normal person from Vietnam, I can do it, and I think you can do it and we can do it, because I can prove it :D

I learn from other people's ideal:

I've been trying since I was about 12 to learn calligraphy... I'm now 33, and I'm finally getting to the point where I'm producing almost consistent results! The last year has seen my most concerted effort, and I joined a course last Summer.

My fine motor-skills are impaired as I'm Dyspraxic, so I wasn't sure I'd get full control of pen & ink, but it's getting there.

Ongnon, your work is beautiful! I envy your skill - clearly you have put a lot of effort in, but you also have a natural skill & inclination toward fine work. I look forward to seeing your future lettering.

Thank you Inkysloth.

I'm at the same age as you, but handwritting and draw skills is still at the beginning.

I see you printmaking blog, I know I 'll never can do the things as you do now. Admired your work.

You are an artist. I'm not an artist, not a penman. In Calligraphy, I just at the beginning, I'm just a learner.

Thank you for sharing your work with us. Your work inspired me :D

If you have new ideals, please share it with me, I think I can learn a lot from you :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
