A slightly selfish update just so I keep track.... :)

I LOVE that pen and LOVE the nib! I didn't think modern B-BB nibs would have much line variation but that is niiiiiice

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Yes Mister Mont Blanc, they are surprisingly stub like. If anything the 90 is a little broad for my ideal size, the older 144 monotone BB is better -YMMV.

So Da Vinci has been busy :)

I have travelled to both Lwes and Madrid pen shows to hunt down new pens, and had a nice deal with a well known member here ;)

The minor collection has grown...

7d318a49-fc57-452c-a48c-2cd0c2dbd10b_zps

From the top:

A Vermeil and citrine cap (the cap is a rather nice brown)

The wonderful Ramses II with gold flecked Lapis Cap

75th Anniversary Solitaire (lovely mop star and rose gold trim)

A barley sterling silver early 144

Stainless steel with carbon fibre panels in the cap

I believe this is a Solitaire with a platinum plated cap, the barrel is patterned. More research required!

An all stainless steel model 144. Fingerprint magnet!

There are still more to buy, but the missing models are on the whole much rarer and expensive. I am missing 3 different jungle eyes models (anyone got a topaz jungle eyes going cheap? :) ) and more rare and expensive the mythical animals annual series.

Finally I need a solid gold model, and a black/silver Doue, a black silver Doue with the herringbone zig-zag patterned cap, and a geometric patterned cap model.

Unfortunately the energy, funds and enthusiasm for this particular focus is beginning to wane...:(

:yikes:Gosh!  You have been busy.  That "minor collection" of yours is not so minor now!  And don't they just look fabulous together!  Love a collection with a theme.

Many thanks for sharing

Pavoni.

One of the few collections I've seen in which I would thoroughly love each and every pen if I had it myself! Wonderful pens and thank you for sharing :)

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

That is now an impressive collection, and one with some great nibs. Congratulations.

That is a really nice collection, I hope you keep up with it.

Very impressive, especially to see all of those in one picture.

Thank you for sharing.

Very nice collection, my first MB purchase was a 145 EF nib. I had it engraved since I plan to keep for a very long time.

New additions to the minor collection are becoming harder to find and more expensive. I try nonetheless... :)

Here is the latest. A mint "M" stickered stainless steel 144 model with a nice cross hatched pattern on the cap

Onwards we go... :D

You call this a minor collection?  :P  I wish my MB collection was as "minor" as yours.
I've only got a 114, 2 145's ( a regular one and a 75th anniversary edition ) and a 142G

All excellent pens Wesley. I like my 142 particularly although it requires a little more looking after than the modern variety.

A foundation to build upon?

In the long run there'll be more, but for now I'm good.
The 142 is indeed a very nice pen, mine has a OBB nib which sadly means that I can't use it as much as I'd want to. OBB nibs and Moleskine notebooks don't really work together all that well .

some other 144 pens are still missing here ... (sometimes scroll down to see the 144 versions)

... and many more ... such as the 144 Pure Silver ... so there are still a lot of pens to hunt ;-)

The "magic pearl" / "true princess 2" 144 pens are probably the ones that are most difficult to find ...

... good luck!

Thank you for that interesting yet slightly depressing post :)

Yes there are many more to collect. There are 2 problems.

First, as you rightly imply I have "picked off" the low hanging fruit - the easier pens to find. I have never seen an 'Ugly Duckling' in real life, and I fear it may be almost impossible to track them all down.

Second, the cost to pen ration now makes a significant leap - would I rather have one of the Artisan series or a green striated 146, a jungle eyes topaz or a Gandhi or a Hitchcock. I understand that those would be the decisions to be made and currently I would not be opting for the Classique sized pen much as I enjoy them.

Should any eagle eyed form members spot any of the items on your list or indeed one of the Artisan series that are missing please do send me a pm. Many eyes make light work to distort the old saying :) just in case budget and enthusiasm collide.

Would Annual Edition pens (in the Mythical Creatures, Venetian Carnival, and Classical Mythology series) fit within the scope of a collection like this?

Regrettably, I think so :)
