Gave Myself A Fountain Pen Tattoo On My Face... How Can I Get Rid Of It

Hey, I forgot to cap my fountain pen earlier today and accidentally stabbed myself in the face. What steps can I take now to get rid of it, or will it just fade away over time?

Well... I would say Lava Soap... but they say never to use that on your face or body, just your hands. Though I noticed most inks tend to rub off of skin easier than on paper over time (noodler's black eel will go away overnight), where as some cling for dear life.

 

PS: Were you trying to prove the pen is mightier than the sword or something? (hehe)

Try using hand sanitzer. Will probably sting like mad. Other than that? Wait seven years or so. And remember to cap that bad boy next time.

I suppose if it was an extra fine and he actually pierced the skin, you may be right. (PS: Why would you hit yourself in the face with the cap on? )

If it is REALLY a tattoo-like wound, meaning below the skin surface -- start looking up tattoo shops and tattoo removals! Or maybe a dermatologist.

The stories pretty embarassing...I pretty much just reached up to scratch myself and the pen stabbed me...

 

Ugh so I'm guessing the only way to get rid of the mark is tattoo removal...?

If I were in your situation, I'd rub the area vigorously and for several minutes with soap. I would want to get the ink out before the wound heals (leaving ink inside). I am not a doctor, that's just what I would do in your shoes.

She washed it vigorously but it only disappeared after some days.

Apparently my mom jabbed her nail (not sure how exactly...) with one of the pens I gave her... 3 weeks later there's still a black spot just under her nail that won't go away... it's growing closer to the edge though. She doesn't recall which pen the dot came frame, but I'm guessing the Baoer 507, the only one I gave her that I last filled with dark ink for her.

I think her body will slowly expell/absorb/eliminate the ink.

You could always finish the job and jab yourself a few more times until you have a tattoo of a puppy or a dollar sign. How cool would that be? When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

Unles it's India ink or other Pigment ink (Sailor Nano?) it's unlikely to remain permanent. The dyes will be broken down by the body & exposure to UV light.

Honestly, I stabbed myself in the finger many decades ago. I had a crowquill full of India ink and a friend of mine came up behind me and slapped me on the back real hard and in went the pen. I still have that tatt. I also tried to pierce my own ear after putting the needle in a flame to sanitize it (I was a kid...what can I say). That soot mark is still there, too.

 

I would strongly suggest that you go to a dermatologist and get their opinion on your undesired facial tatt. It isn't going to go away (unless it is going to go away). Don't put hand sanitizer or anything else on it. Just leave it alone and let the wound heal and see if the mark remains. If it does, get a professional opinion, and don't go on the cheap...get a good one.
