So, I've had my Ahab for a good few months, got it all tuned and set up nicely and I've been having fun with it.  I hadn't used it for a week or so until today, but it started almost straight away.  I thought I'd check out how much ink was left, so I unscrewed the barrel and it took the plunger unit with it!  Luckily I had it nib up, so I contained most of the ink.  Turns out the threads on the plunger unit are stripped.

Any suggestions?

I found the same situation with one of my Ahabs the other day, too. Too much tightening over the last year, I guess. I'll need to be more gentle, or there will be an inkcident in my future!

Breathe.  Take one step at a time.  Don't sweat the small stuff.  You're not getting older, you are only moving through time.  Be calm and positive.

You can convert the Ahab to an eyedropper.

I was thinking about that.  Is it simply a case of slipping the o-ring down and filling up with a shedload of ink?

O-ring plus some silicone grease on the threads....lots of ink! But it tends to BLURP as it gets below a half-tank!

I pretty well ruined two Ahabs just experimenting with them. That's OK, because that's why I bought them. I got a third Ahab a few months ago and have left the nib and feed alone. It writes beautifully.
