There are a couple of threads on this topic if you search. I did see one report though that the nibs were not going to be interchangeable but i don't have a definitive source on this. We'll have to wait and see I guess. IMHO, that would be a bad move for Pelikan.

Here's from a thread on Pentrace;

"

While having a look to Pelikan's page on the P200, I read a couple of sentences which, if I understood them right, are saying that P200 nib units are not compatible with the older piston filler nib units.

"Um die Patrone zu tauschen, wird der Füllhalter vorne am Ring aufgeschraubt."

No surprise here; it says that you must unscrew the pen at the ring to access the cartridge housing.

"Dieses Vorderteil wird auch in seiner Gesamtheit getauscht, wenn ein Federwechsel gewünscht wird."

Now, here's the catch. The sentence literally says that this forward piece will be exchanged in its entirety if you wish to change the nib.

So, it seems that the P200 doesn't use the M200 nib unit, but an integral nib+section unit, with the nib firmly attached to the section.

Regards.

Pablo"

It seems to me that for a cart you need a way to pierce it, and the screw-in nib units do not possess the pointed end for this, and I can't see a way to get the feed to pull in the ink.

Some people say they march to a different drummer. Me? I hear bagpipes.

I agree, I don't think we'll be able to interchange with the M2xx nibs. Here's a link to the Pelikan site for the P200/205 that describes the pens and available nibs:

They might not be doing it, but it's certainly possible. Thinking of the Esterbrook Safari and the Sheaffer Tip-Dip Cadet; one can rig a section with an extension off the back end and an accommodation for a screw-in point/feed unit. The Cadet's extension was the mounting for a sac and protector, but the Safari appeared in a cartridge-using variant. I can't believe Pelikan is technically incapable of designing a section like this, when Esterbrook (and I beleive even Platignum, back in the day) managed it. Which allows us to turned upraised eyebrows of unspoken accusation at Pelikan, I think.

As fas I know a C/C nib's feed has a nipple in wich the converter or cartdridge fits in, so in might not be interchangeable.

Or there would be an special feed with the nipple.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
