I really wish I could have made the application; the concept seems very interesting and I would love to try out a notebook. Regardless, I'll keep my eyes out for feedback on it. I have high hopes for it :)

You forgot watercolour and watercolour pencils in the list!

Tes rires retroussés comme à son bord la rose,

Effacent mon dépit de ta métamorphose;

Tu t'éveilles, alors le rêve est oublié.

I mentioned that I used those in my journals in my application. With >300 applicants I'm not confident that I'll get the chance to test these notebools but would be lovely if I do.

Wrote a little review of the book. It's not so much a review as an overview, as I haven't really decided on what format my blog is yet. But it's an opportunity for you guys to see the notebook. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks much. Did you take any pics of the back sides of pages? Could you share some if so? On your blog I thought I saw some bleed through with your flex writing. How about with a medium or bold?

definite bleedthrough when flexing. Slight ghosting with medium nibs, Sorry, I don't have any bold, but the stub bled a bit.

Overall it's not the worst bleeding I've seen, and really only with the big, wet nibs. medium or fine nibs users shouldn't have too much trouble, maybe a bit of bleeding if you rest your nib on the page, but nothing too extreme. But I wouldn't recommend it for people who write exclusively with B or greater. It performs slightly better than Moleskine paper, thought not quite as smooth, I would not call the paper toothy by any means.

Yup, beta books have all been sent out and we got some awesome response which helped finalize the design for our first edition :) We may offer additional testing opportunities in the future and will announce them here when that happens.

For those interested, the kickstarter campaign to fund our first production run is now live and can be found here.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
