Hello everyone

I am Deputy Chairman of Dreweatts Bloomsbury Auctions in the UK. We have been re-kindling our Fine Pens Sales over the past four years, and we are the only major UK auctioneer to offer specialist Pen Auctions (amongst all the other auctions we hold).

I am not sure where to post on this site, but I would like to tell all pen collectors that we have the best Pens Sale coming up on 26th March that we have held in years. We have consigned several private collections, of around 110 lots including Limited Edition Montblancs, Ancoras, Auoras, Viscontis, Pelicans, Monegrappas, Parkers etc. The top lots include the Montblanc Charlie Chaplin, Joan Miro and Antoni Gaudi.

If anyone could direct me to where I can post our press release and catalogue details without offending the rules of this site, I'd be delighted to share the information about our sale with you.

You would need our market watch or Mall sub forums as commercial activity is not allowed in the other sub forums.

But these too have certain rules.

You would best contact our Admin or a Moderator.

Enjoy the forum

The sale catalogue will go live on our website at the end of next weekend, so you will be able to see all the lots with plenty of images on-line. If you google Dreweatts you'll find our website.

The sale will be previewed in our London Salerooms from 17th - 19th March. It will then be on view at our country house sale room, Donnington Priory, from Saturday 22nd March.

And yes, we have plenty of parking!

Thanks for the tip.

I had found those forums, but it tells me I can't post there. I'll try an admin - once I work out how to contact one!

Hello and welcome. Glad to hear you are getting the pen auctions back on track, Bonhams are great but getting your purchases back over from the US can be an expensive venture, I will view the online catalogue and no doubt other UK members will do likewise.

Thank you all for your kind welcome. I am going to enjoy using FPN. I have found some very helpful moderators who are guiding me on how to use the site and where to post information about our Pen business without breaking FPN's rules.

Hopefully soon I will be able to give FPN more information and images from 26th March sale, and details of the next Vintage Pens Sale in April which contains several private collections, including some bought from the Andreas Lambrou collection sale in London in 1996, which are illustrated in his book 'Fountain Pens of The World'.

I am looking forward to browsing the catalogue.

Just out of interest do you use a fountain pen yourself? Maybe you get to test the lots that will be auctioned.. :D

I love fountain pens, and am beginning to make a small collection, so far a lovely green Parker Duofold and an electric blue Conway Stewart. I also fell in love with a purple Kaweko, which I know isn't high on pen collectors lists, but I just had to buy it! I don't use them as I am just too messy with real ink!

My pen collecting is only just starting, as it has to compete with my other collecting interests (watches & cufflinks) - sadly my pocket is not deep enough to satisfy all my 'wants'.

I do use Montblanc 149 rollerballs though. I love the weight, and find many other pens don't feel the same in your hand.

As many of the lots we offer for sale are un-inked, no-one is able to 'test drive' them. I just love looking at them - that and dealing with the sellers and buyers we work for is where the satisfaction comes from.

Sounds like a great job :)

Now you have joined this forum you may well find your collection grows rather quicker than you expect. Watches used to be my priority, but now take a lower priority.

I know what you mean - once you get into pens you can easily turn into a kid in a candy store!
