Umm, yes. Not me I may add, just a bit down the forum listing there's this thread: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/260671-jinhao-950-porcelain-horse-dragon/

The nib used is the same as on the Jinhao Century Mk2 pen, and I made my Century pen feel really nice. So, from that point of view the pen could be very nice.

Regards,

Richard

Although I'm a complete fountain pen newbie, I just bought this pen and am enjoying using it very much.I found it for $5.15 on Amazon, and it took about five weeks for it to reach me from China, with free shipping. Amazon offered me faster shipping for $55, but I decided to be patient instead.

This is the noblest! :P

Every now and then I pull the trigger on something that looks Chinese as hell just to be a little ostentatious about the fact that I spent no more than $10 on my extreme noblest fountain pen. I'll have one of these before the Winter is over with, I'm sure.

I had bought this pen earlier for the lure of porcelain barrel. The nib is very smooth medium point. But I felt this is more of a showpiece pen rather than a practical regular use pen. The section is slippery and the pen is quite heavy for comfort use. So it has gone back to the showcase!

I'm missing my Dragon porcelain 950 - but I'd say that it natively was the best writing Chinese pen that I've found yet - certainly the best of the Jinhao line, with the x750 following along. Inked it up in DeAtramentis Atlantic Blue. Great handling pen.

The four porcelain models are pretty easy to find and - well, I'm going to replace the lost one with a new Dragon if I don't find it in a couple of weeks. There are other models out there, but they're a lot more difficult to find. Check eBay, AliExpress and Banggood for what you can find and good luck!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
