Wonderful Experience With Todd At Isellpens

Recently I placed an order from iSellPens.com. I opted for isellpens over Goulet Pens, and I don't regret it one bit. No, I may not have gotten a Tootsie pop – even better.

I managed to get some money after selling one of my old textbooks on eBay, so I decided I would treat myself to a bottle of Diamine Denim, Noodler's Black, a Pilot Metropolitan and a few other small things for school. Not a big order by any means, but it got to me quicker than I could believe. I placed my order on a Friday, and it was here Monday morning without my spending a small fortune on shipping, unless $3 is considered a small fortune. (5% off my order, too!) Being a student just starting off, I was incredibly excited to open up my order when it arrived. I opened up the box and...."did Todd mess up my order?" Nope! Without requesting anything, he was so incredibly kind as to include a few ink samples with a 17 year old guy's order!

– Now – as you can imagine, I was excited to get a Metropolitan and two bottles of ink, but receiving those on the side absolutely made my day. ––– That's not all though.

The way in which Todd packaged my order was unbelievable. He included a hand-written note inside of the Fort-Knox-tough package –– a great added touch. I e-mailed back and forth with Todd a bit and soon realized what an outstanding guy he is. He is a man of great integrity, faith, and honesty with an interest in his customers. It's a small family-run business, but that's what I really like about it. He truly cares about his customers and runs an honest business where he does his best to provide great prices and service. I just want to encourage those on this awesome community to check his website out and support small businesses like his that may not always have the same benefits as the larger ones on the block. He truly is a great guy. Those are my thoughts, anyway.

Thanks!

I too have had good experiences with isellpens as well as Goulet and others. Our hobby is lucky to have great retailers like those.

Todd is an absolutely incredible guy and treated me with the utmost respect and fairness, just as every retailer should! An honest, integrious person!

Todd is a wonderful seller. He sold me my first "real" fountain pen. I'm glad you got to experience his great service!

Todd at isellpens is one of two pen sellers I have purchased from more than once. I have been buying from Todd for about 6 years now, and Speerbob nearly as long. Different types of pen with some overlap. Once Todd gets to know you, he can and will graciously give advice on whether you are likely to be happy with a particular pen.

Todd is the guy I bought my Lamy 2000 from. He charged $130 when everyone else was charging $158 and shipped it quick as lightning. The nib was smooth as glass out of the box, and I would absolutely buy another pen from him. Very glad to have such good retailers in the fountain pen world.

Edit: It looks like isellpens is doing a closeout on the 2000 line. I'm actually kind of sad.

Happy customer here, too. I ordered a pen from isellpens on December 30. I got a shipping notice and tracking number on New Year's Eve.(!) I agree, the handwritten note was a nice touch.

Yep, I've been dealing with Todd for over ten years -- always courteous, always accurate, and fast with his shipping. Goulet Pens is the only other merchant that I feel is as good with their customer care.

Enjoy,

Yours,

I had issues with two pens I got from Todd - manufacturer was the problem, not Todd. He was very responsive to my e-mails and helpful. Actually, you find out more about a person/on-line store when you have a problem and see how they deal with it. I have since received products from him that were perfect, and will continue to purchase from him.

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

Tomgartin - I believe iSellPens is doing a closeout on all Lamy products, it is quite unfortunate, but in order to prevent such things from occurring in the future to Todd and other smaller pen businesses, we must support the small stores! After all, iSellPens is absolutely great and Todd truly cares about his customers.

From what I've experienced, all I can say is that I will definitely be placing most all of my future orders from Todd. Great service and lightning quick shipping!

I can rate Todd at the top of my list. He ships lightening fast, is always courteous, and has some of the best prices. After purchasing a Lamy nib and converter he let me know that he was discontinuing the line and I figured there was no better time to try a 2000. At $109 (with the 5% off) it is quite a bargain and free shipping to boot.

I blame Todd for getting me hooked on fountain pens 😉. He sold me my very first fp. He is such a nice gentleman!!!

I have yet to find someone else as kind and courteous as him in the retail world. He truly is exceptional.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
