You can't see them yet, but my EDC trio of 146s are in there. This photo is a pretty accurate representation of its black, blue and teal colour - much darker than the photos above would suggest. In person, the teal shows quite a bit more.

Note: My 146s were dusty to begin with. The lint is not from the suede lining.

That is one stunning case, Whitedot! I think I prefer these cases to the pen wraps myself (though I really wish they had a 5 pen case...).

I'm really impressed by the texture of the cloth. What does the case feel like, and what is it lined with (some kind of suede from the look of it)?

That's all, folks!

For some reason I was expecting it to cost more. The craftmanship looks great.

Well, it isn't flawless. Where the suede meets the fabric at the end of the flap, it is about 1mm off at the corner. After all, it is handmade. Considering the design process, fabrics sourcing, raw mat cost, actual time and effort in making it, yeah, $55 is most reasonable.

They have a five-pen wrap. I imagine a five-pen case would be a bit cumbersome.

The case holds its shape very well. The flap in particular is sufficiently stiff. It is indeed lined with true suede.

I was expecting it to be much more expensive than that. I might actually get it. The blue wool and silk three pen case was the exact configuration I liked most from your last thread.

How far down do the separators go? Does the cloth collect lint and grime easily? How durable does the cloth seem? I would love an update after a few months to see how it holds up and how you like it in general after the honeymoon period.

They go all the way down. Each pen is fully "wrapped" in its own "finger-style" compartment.

The cloth is evidently most durable. It is thick and won't tear. I am told that it can be hand-washed in cold water, without detergent. I plan to wipe down the exterior from time to time.

Sure, update will be posted. Feel free to PM and remind me if you don't see it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
