Good Day Folks.s

I'm in a shoping mood for Noodler's inks. I'm sure someone here has good sources. It would greatly appreciated if someone would share that source.

Thank You!

It depends on what you're really looking for. I agree that the Goulet's have a large selection, and they are really good at what they do. I find that, in my experience, andersonpen.net ships faster. I'm on the west coast btw. Also, shopwritersbloc.com has Noodler's 50 cents cheaper then most places. Another source is isellpens.com I have used all of these sources and have had good experiences with them. You can't really go wrong with any of them. Sometimes it ends up being the shipping cost that influences who I buy from.

I'm gonna give another shout-out to Goulet. When I first started tiptoeing into this world, Goulet weren't just a company selling stuff: they were an enormously helpful resource. Their video reviews, tutorials, Brian's blog, and their unparalleled commitment to their customers and their products are something I have returned to again and again and again as I've broadened my collection.

Are they the cheapest? Honestly? I have no idea. I don't comparison shop that much. I don't have much of a budget for this hobby - if I have a month where I can afford a new bottle of ink, it's a good month. But even if I could save a few cents somewhere else, why would I? Are the hours I've spent reading the FAQs and their beginner guides, and watching their video reviews, worth a little extra? I think so. A few dimes won't kill me, and Goulet is just a terrific company to deal with.

None of this, by the way, is to say that the other companies mentioned here don't do the same. Haven't shopped from them! And I have no affiliation with Goulet other than as a super satisfied customer. But they have been outstanding in every interaction I've had with them. Huge thumbs up.

EDIT: whoops, got so caught up there that I forgot you were asking specifically about Noodlers. Goulet is a great Noodlers retailer. They have at least one co-designed ink (Liberty's Elysium, one of my favorite blues) and I think a few other exclusives, and seem to have a good relationship with Mr. Tardif.

I've used each of the companies listed above and would add that Dromgoole's has been wonderful, Isellpens.com (Todd) was great.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Goulet Pens get top marks from me.

I have also placed orders with Jetpens.com and found their delivery very quick.

They are on the west coast and I am on the other side of the country.

Generally, we use Goulet (excellent selection and service, and for us a "local" merchant) unless we're looking for an exclusive (i.e., Goulet has Liberty's Elysium and Dramgoolie has one that's exclusive to them) or we're ordering sacs from Anderson and there's something that catches our eye.

Of note, ESS' Registrar's Blue-black is only available by mail order (and on-line) from them here in the colonies; however a 110ml bottle is only £10.50, including shipping and handling. Quite the bargain, and they take Paypal.

I am a very satisfied Goulet customer as well. Only one pen (Noodler's Konrad) but both Noodler's and Diamine bottled inks and various ink samples.

I have been happy with both Goulet and Anderson Pens. I'll note, though, that there are also some retailers with exclusive Noodler's inks. Pendemonium has several (including the absolutely gorgeous Legal Lapis), Dromgoole's has a half dozen (including the lovely Texas Bluebonnet and Blue Steel), Fountain Pen Hospital has about that many too, especially since they have at least two formerly sold by Art Brown... So, basically, it behooves you to spread your patronage around. :)

My budget means I have to comparison shop and that means Jetpens (but they don't sell Noodler's--apologies for my faulty memory) with free shipping over $25 and isellpens with low prices and shipping charges of $3 under $75 or free over $75 usually win out. I loved Liberty's Elysium until it turned my Lamy Vista a very unfortunate purple so I'm glad I only had the sample. If you really are pinching pennies one place to also check is Amazon. I got Heart of Darkness there for around $12 with free shipping. They sell Prera's cheaper than anyone by a long shot (coming from Japan). If you have something specific it pays to check around a little. I only use Goulet now when I can't find it anywhere else just because they are usually the most expensive and never give free shipping. They do offer great service but as I've mentioned in other posts so does Todd at isellpens. He doesn't give you any candy unfortunately. Sometimes I wish I had money to throw around but I probably wouldn't because pennies saved can be spent on another bottle of ink later! ;)

I've always wondered about Writer's Bloc. They have some interesting stuff and when I finally get moved back home I'll want another west coast provider.

You can't buy Noodler's at Jetpens though.

You are correct! I could have sworn I bought a bottle of Nikita there but it seems it was actually Watermans Florida or whatever Blue. You can see how easily I confused the two. Scratch Jetpens for Noodler's but they have really good prices on Watermans! :lticaptd:

So what I meant to say is buy your Noodler's from Todd at isellpens unless you want a special edition. Also make sure to check Amazon for special deals if price matters the most.

JetPens used to sell Noodler's, then stopped after problems with shipping issues (receiving the product from Nathan in sellable condition).

Thank you! I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out where the Nikita came from and wondering if I really confused it with Florida Blue. I'll put off checking myself in for a few more days. :P

I have to give the nod to Goulet as well. They have an excellent selection at excellent prices. Plus, your supporting a small family business located in the USA. They also ship FAST, pack the living hell out of everything so nothing gets broken, and you get a lollipop in the box. No contest for me. That being said, I've had a pleasant experience ordering ink from jetpens.com as well.

Goulet Pen Company, hands down. They have a large selection, quick turn around, and the best customer service around.

I shop at Goulet Pens mostly (Brian is fabulous to deal with, and has that famous blue packaging), but I've also purchased from ISellPens, and Pendemonium has two popular exclusive bulletproofs I cannot live without, Legal Lapis and Violet Vote.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
