I like these! The "pointy" ones (Model 8) look particularly nice.

I don't have any experience with this brand. Where do people order these pens from? E-bay...?

Yes he does Paypal. I live in Curaçao and my (so far) single Ranga arrived 100% OK, in a beautiful box, with an extra nib and feed in case I did not like the one installed. And if you think Europe is a challenge for the Indian postal services, think former Netherlands Antilles - which is in the Caribbean...

Peyton Street Pens in California is another place where you can order Ranga pens. Terri checks the pens to make sure they work fine before shipping them off to you. Plus, she offers some upgrades, ie, she can fit a gold nib instead of the steel nib that Ranga Pens usually fits the pens with. Terri is a FPN member too, so she is aware of what people here expect their pens.

Lovely, I especially like the 4C style with the same diameter cap and barrel. The Olive is a lovely color choice!

Do you manufacture large matte black pens?

I am not too sure if I would like a clipless one

I have several of the Ranga #3 pens (the flat-top version) purchased from Teri at Peyton Street Pens. They're just great!

Can you tell me what brand of nibs these have? Teri doesn't specify anything other than that they are German steel nibs. Are yours the same ones, or different?

If they are the same (or similar enough), what payment methods other than PayPal can you accept? (I do not have PayPal.)

Many thanks to FPN first .. thru your contributors I got to know about Ranga Pen Company.

It was a pleasure to actually connect and be able to meet with Mr. M.S. Pandurangan (MSP) and Mr. M.P. Kandan (MPK). I was blown over by MSP's craftsmanship and his humility. I will write a separate report of my visit.

Cheers.

It's amazing how similar the Ebonite pen is to the Desideratapens pens in pattern.

These come directly with the Zebra Comic nib and married to these pens are superb.

I wrote non stop for 2 pages. Never been able to do that before with pens for this nib.

The user can just switch out for other nibs also. Goulet Nibs and Nemosine.

The Ebonite pen which is the cheaper is my fav out of the two. The owner did call and ask me questions like how tight I wanted the caps to fit etc... I have had a very good experience with the company, I don't have clue if that it not the normal, but can't imagine after talking to the owner.

I thought I would share as the Ranga does resemble the Desideratapens quite strongly in pattern.

Has anyone got both by any chance and can offer a comparison/

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
