Does any selling take place at the pen meets? I have a few pens that I am thinking of selling. Thought I might go local before posting them on on the classifieds.

I see that you will be having a meeting on July 19th. I am trying to arrange to be in Toronto between 16th - 20th July. If I am still welcome I would like to come to your meeting.

Yes.

I wasn't part of the paper buy, but arrangements for picking up paper may be different from the meet itself - I doubt Saskia wants to carry around multiple reams of paper!

Not sure but it may be just darn convenient if we met at CAMH for paper pick up and pen chat. I will try to be at CAMH for 11.

Can we get a confirmation one place or the other, I have to get to Laywines and the MB Boutique so if it's Fox and Fiddle I'll be there, if it's at CAMH I can't make this month!

My understanding was Fox and Fiddle. My apologies if I am making this confusing... I am in the middle of moving and I am not sure if it was agreed CAMH or Fox Fiddle. I also don't think Saskia wants to carry paper around. CAMH seems to be the logical choice.

If paper pick up and pen meet are two different places, then I will have to choose paper pick up.

(Sorry if you already know this  )

Thanks for letting us know. Without your update here (and the resultant email notification), I wouldn't have have noticed the new thread, would've gone to the Fox and Fiddle, and been left wondering why nobody showed up.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
