The photos are fine, good enough for our purpose! :) So it seems that the Plumix may be a source for a cheap nib for a Metropolitan or a 78G! I'll have to look into the Plumix. It seems like it's similar to the Medium nib, but with line variation. Thank you for the pictures!

You are welcome. It appears that if you like the performance of these pens you can mix and match nibs. Also since they are c/c pens, it is possible to move to other bodies. I have a couple of low cost celluloid pens on the way that, I believe, will fit the Metropolitan/78G sections. I can update if you are interested.

What are c/c pens? sorry.

And I would love to see that once you get them! Thank you.

Sorry. C/C is cartridge/converter. In this style of pen the body is just a shell. Unlike piston fillers, vacuum fillers, and others that store ink in the body of the pen. With cartridge/converter pens you can unscrew the section and filling system and screw them into a compatible body. It is why you can swap 78Gs directly with Metropolitans with ease.

Thanks YoungPenmanship! I don't think I'll ever buy a ballpoint pen again. Hope you enjoy FPN, too!

Scribblesoften: Are the nibs on the Metropolitan, 78G, and Plumix the same as on the Prera?

I believe I read in one of the threads that the Prera and Plumix are the same size. I do not have a Prera so I cannot confirm it. Sorry. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I read that it is possible to put a 78G nib on a Prera, so if the Plumix, 78G, and Metropolitan nibs are all the same, I would guess that it is possible to put them on a Prera as well.

Anyone have a Prera and 78G/Metropolitan/Plumix? Just curious! :)

I have all three, but not gonna do a nib swap! I'm satisfied with the nibs they have, lol.

Perhaps not a swap but a disassembly and examination. Just to compare the Prera nib with one of the others.

Sailor: It would be appreciated if you would do a comparison of the Prera nib with the others. A post like Scribblesoften did with the Plumix, Metropolitan, and 78G would be awesome! Thanks.

That would be alright, too. But Scribblesoften and I were wondering if you could compare the nibs on the Prera and other Pilot pens to see if they are interchangeable, and if the performance is the same. No need to swap nibs, just to compare them and see if it is possible to swap.

I think there are people who have some this, but I lack the expertise.
