I use gouletpens.com for nearly all of my ink purchases and a mix between Ebay(I love a good bargain) and a few actual e-tailers, for my pens.

I generally look at Jet Pens first for inks, paper, and some accessories, since they have free shipping inside the US if I'm ordering $25 worth. If they don't have what I want, I look on Goulet's and Amazon. I've got Amazon Prime, so again it's possible that there may be no extra charge for shipping.

For vintage pens, I check out eBay, Peyton Street Pens, and a couple of other places occasionally to see what I can find. For new pens, not that I'm looking for any right now, Jet Pens, Amazon, Goulet's, Isellpens.com, and I have bought from Richard Binder's site for a couple of special modifications.

And I look through the classifieds here when I happen to think of it, but have not yet bought anything that way.

Gouletpens.com, nibs.com, jetpens.com, fountainpenhospital.com, richardspens.com, peytonstreetpens.com are the ones that come to mind for me.

Nibs.com and Richardspens.com have the added benefit of a nibmeister looking at the nibs before you receive them.

Goulet Pens is my #1 source for everything FP-related. However, I have bought pens from isellpens and had great service from there as well.

Fountain Pen Hospital is at the top of my list -- especially 'The Back Room.' Nibs.com is a close second -- new arrivals and pre-owned pens attract my attention.

Jetpens and isellpens, mostly. Also ipenstore and Pen Boutique. All these have friendly owners/staff, great service, fast shipping, low prices and the best shipping deals (either free or very cheap). Ipenstore and Pen Boutique offer nice sales to email subscribers.

I almost forgot Nibs.com, but that is more for window shopping and the occasional big splash. And Anderson Pens, who are very nice, too.

Goulet is far and away my #1. Now that I think about it, all the other purchases are one-offs/occasional from other sellers. When we lived in NJ, I spent quite a bit of time and money at Paradise Pen in the Bridgewater mall.

I have a love/hate relationship with eBay. I've done well with FPH and Fahrney's and Amazon. Also ipenstore.com: I can practically open my window after ordering from them, and the package arrives.

Mr Pen.co.uk for Italix pens.

Stationary Art for Pilot. (great prices)

Ebay for Esterbrook

isellpens

The Writing Desk and Bureau Direct for notebooks etc.

I try to avoid USA sellers whenever possible, because of Royal Mail/custom charges

About half of my pens are from eBay (I'm perfectly happy to buy pens that need repairs), most of my nicer journals are from Amazon (free shipping over $35) and my basic notebooks are usually from B&N.

For pens, I really like JStationery.com and isellpens.com (also had a good experience with hisnibs.com).

For inks, I usually wind up buying from Goulet Pens (biggest selection), but I've also bought stuff from Amazon.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
