Hello, my name is Synnöve.

After years of improper training, frustrations with the physical durress of popular writing instruments, and an ever increasing dream of possesing the skill of a fine hand, I decided to plunge in head first in to uncharted territory and add fountainpens and penmanship to my list of hobbies that warrant too much time and money.

My first purchases are as follows:

-A bottle of Noodler's black-blue,

-A Wahl Eversharp GF from 1920-1923 w/ a nib that appears to be from the 50s(?),

-A Wahl Eversharp Mechanical pencil that is of matching style,

-Clairefontaine Basics notebook.

I've attatched photos of the pen & pencil (taken by the seller as the watermark shows).

Suffice to say, I'm in for a lot of practice, but considering I'm going to be returning to school soon this reality is rather fitting as it'll give me the oppertunity to write moreso than I normally would of my own accord.

I hope this first post reflects favorable beginner's taste & judgement vs. overreaching obnoxiousness. Any advise or guidence would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to FPN.

Diving headfirst into this particular hobby is a heady feeling.

While I've been dabbling in fountain pens for some years now, I just (re)discovered this hobby about some time back.

Welcome, Synnove !

:puddle:   Lovely pen set.  Will they be fully restored to use ?

Personally, I like "obnoxiousness".  :lticaptd:

Hi there and welcome to FPN! You will find no other site to help you spend "too much time and money" on your new fountain pen hobby as this one can!!

Although I don't prefer all gold pens, I think you're off to a great start... How does it write? Nib feel smooth? What about the ink, like it? Enjoying the Clairefontaine notebook?

Thank you for the compliments! According to the individual who sold me the pieces, both are ready to write; the pen is ready for ink and the pencil expells lead just fine. Based on what they told me it sounds as though they cleaned them up, replaced the sack and possibly the nib as well given that it looks to be a Skyline nib.

Should be here tomorrow!

I think you will enjoy the world of fountain pens. They can make your schoolwork that much more enjoyable because even the boring sections can be made interesting by reframing them as handwriting practice! If you have questions, please feel free to ask,
