Introducing Scriptorium Pens!

Scriptorium Pens

Recommended Posts

It’s finally official. I’ve got a company name and a website up for my handcrafted fountain pens, and my FPN name has been changed from Tortoise to Scriptorium Pens:

http://www.scriptoriumpens.com

I have a regular line-up of pen model offerings which can be customized to your specs, and will do commissioned custom designs as well. I’ve put a lot of info on the site, and would love to hear your comments and suggestions!

A big thank you goes out to the FPN community for supporting my work and making Scriptorium Pens possible!

Renée

(Can you tell I’m excited?!)

Wow your Lava explosion and Copper Ore colours are fantastic! Simply awesome! Congrats on creating beautiful pens. I shall definitely consider purchasing one! Good luck in your enterprise!

Fountain pens are like weapons. They just make your pocket bleed so much.

Congrats,Renee'--you've got some very nice pens and choices to choose

Saw the other companies with various blanks which made me........... :puddle:

In looking at the different types of pens that you have,I was struck by

a thought--can you put capbands or caprings on the caps of your pens?

I noticed that none of your pens have them. I would think that would

add a little pizzazz to them.

These are gorgeous.

I'm nowhere near being in a position to afford a custom pen at the moment, but if / when I am, I wonder if you'd consider installing a vintage nib / feed into a newly turned pen?

Best wishes

Bands are next on my list of techniques to master. I've made a few for practice! Thanks for the reminder!

I have that in mind also, but my ideas run to buying a user and having the furniture

(nib,clip,cap top,barrel end,lever & lever box,caprings/capband)and the section/feed

/nib unit incorporated into one of those nice choices-for-a-custom pen.

The abalone is nice, but does it come in another color besides blue?

I don't know of anyone off-hand who makes lever fillers. You might do better with a pen restorer for a project like that. It's certainly out of my league.

I would think that all that's required is to cut out and groove the slot

where the lever and its box would go............

Now that I think about it,I think there is one pen manufacturer today

(Conway Stewart?) that has made a lever set-up for a pen model they

have.........

You might want to post your idea in the penmaking forum. There are some turners there who could possibly do what you have in mind. I wish you luck!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
