Very nice review. I didn't expect the water resistance.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

This looks pink in my eyes, neither crimson, nor violet.

My bottles of Crimson Violet from Chelpark (batch of 2011) looks pretty much the same as yours, if not more pink-ish. In fact I find that the sample of Bril Laurel Rose posted here has more similarity to my Chelpark Crimson Violet.

Yes, almost 2 months later it is still pink, no darkening.

Looking for: Camlin pens (minus SD/Trinity/Elegante)

I don't think it darkens much inside the bottle - especially if you keep light from hitting it - but in pens, I definitely see it darken. Not only in demonstrators but also in opaque barrel pens. I'm starting to think it is because of evaporation though.

Hi All,

Reviving this old thread, instead of starting another, since I see that the first page had some great inputs on chelpark, before the thread got diverted from topic (hijacked! )..

I was looking for a few packs of bril ink here in Pune. I came across Chelpark Blue, black,Red and violet. (so much win!! :bunny01: )

Of course I couldn't dip test the ink (or the cheapie camlin ED I bought :P ) in the store itself, so I just scribbled a line or two, after I came home.

This looks pink in my eyes, neither crimson, nor violet. I do not like this color, neither does my gf. So, I have no use for this.

Could swap with a sulekha/bril purple, :lticaptd: if only the store stocked them.

Just add a few drops of Chelpark Blue to your Chelpark Violet. You should get a nicer purple... :D

Hey,

I have been looking for Chelpark colored ink for some time now, I have been just getting the black and the blue ink (Royal Blue) from a local shop, but its very hard to find the same at other stores around

I normally use the ink in my Schneider or Parker pens, recently for my Wingsung pen as well.

Can you please direct me to the shop where you guys normally buy in Bombay please

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
