The ones I have bought were about $110 to $150.  Having used the Carenes, I would say about $184 too much.

Yet in the next picture it looks fine.  Something odd going on here.

hmmm, yes it looks unscathed in the second picture. I messaged the seller resulting in the removal of the listing.

But you at least knew ahead (I hope) what you were buying and have the skill to straighten out the nib. Thanks for saving at least one person from buying an expensive "clunker".

No Dick, I have had a new iridium plated nib section for a few years and have waited this long for a home for it. I will try to repair the one with it but would never pass it on as such.

$399

It's only an asking price but it is the highest I have seen for a Phili.

Is this the record high asking price?  It's a pretty good chuckle.

This one is in "good condition apart from a crack in the cap", they say.

The two nib photos were put up only after I requested it.

So what has a pen to look like that they call it damaged ?

That one is beyond me. :)  With a cracked cap and busted nib, good condition for exactly what purpose?

Oh, it is all right, they tell you: "a lovely addition to your pen collection"

Just another old pen.  I have no doubt that if I bought something like that and were to try restoring it, I would set it smoking just like the last one when applying heat to it.
