you can feel the very slight ridge of this slider on your thumb, but it actually gives you better traction. your forefinger will be touching the section threads themselves. it's a comfortable hold.

Also, does the thinnest part of the pen---that skinny section in the middle of the barrel---ever get in your way when writing? Can you feel the protruding top and bottom edges, I mean?

Thanks for sharing. =D

This thread caused me to buy the MB Historical!!  I've been kinda watching them since 2006, liked them too, but never had the obsession with them until I read this thread and saw the wonderful pics.  So, I bought one and sent if off to MB to get an EF nib :D.  Waiting for it to return from MB  B).  Now i just have to figure out how to pay off the credit card :(!

Beautiful pen.  One of our favorite and customers love it.  The only part I wished was that they should have made it as cartridge/converter.  But still it was a hot seller with a vintage Montblanc logo to complement it!

I've always admired the unusual design of this pen, very handsome.

And the star shaped/snowcap breather hole, on the nib is a lovely touch.

But...cartridges?!?

From a company that makes some of the best piston fillers in the world?

Crushing mistake!

(Were cartridges even invented 100 years ago?)

ha ha, glad to have been your enabler ;) you'll love it--i now use it quite often, alongside my agatha christie (which looks humongous beside it).

@CS388--i share your disappointment about the choice of a cartridge filling system, but i've rationalized this by telling myself that it's practically the only cartridge filling one among all the pens in my daily rotation, so it'll be a good one to bring along on those trips where i can't possibly carry a bottle of ink with me, or can't find ink on the road.

Thanks, penmanila. You make a good point.

Just looked at your pictures again. It's a beautiful set of pens. Really striking.

An ideal daily combination, too.

Congratulations!

Enjoy in good health.

This is one of my favorite pens. I have tried taking it out of rotation a couple of times since I got mine (thanks to Bry!) a few years ago, but it always comes back into rotation.

I had the nib swapped for an EF, and I prefer cartridges, anyway. This is a great little pen! Especially when taking notes (such as in museums), as there is no need to cap the pen; just retract the nib until needed. Retracting helps in preventing hard starts.
