New Diamine Flower Set

Recommended Posts

I was looking around to see if it's possible to buy Diamine Marigold and Carnation separately but unlikely. It's an expensive set if one is not going to use all the colours, so my solution was to request it on MassDrop:

I just nominated the Diamine Flowers set of inks for the poll at MassDrop to see if we can team up and get it at a good price. I just love the set, but at US$99 and not all the inks would be used by me, it just seems a little pricey. So if you want, and are interested in getting the Flowers ink set too, please go over to MassDrop click on VOTE, scroll down to Diamine Fountain Pen Inks, and vote! Thanks!

So many pens, so little time.

You may be able to get specific colors directly from Diamine, if you have a set. The original boxes (at least) had stickers on the back with a ID code, which IIRC were for ordering more. Not of course that I've done this -- I haven't even tried all the colors because I keep getting sidetracked, and I still have plenty of ink for the ones I *have* tried. Marigold was one of the "not yet tried" inks; Carnation, OTOH is gorgeous. I would SO get another bottle if it were available; ditto for Aster, Bougainvillea, and Cornflower (Tulip, not so much -- it was too orange-y a red for me).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Yes, I did read somewhere that you can reorder specific colors from Diamine if you already own a set. Unfortunately I don't already own a set, and am only interested in those 2 colors, so I will have to wait until I find the colors available individually, or if the set becomes available at a really attractive price! :-)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
