Replacement Noodler's Flex Nib

I bought a Noodlers Ahab from Goulet Pens and I LOVE it. However, my foster dog did not appreciate my attention being split between him and the letter I was writing so he flicked dear Ahab out of my hand. The pen is fine but the nib is beyond repair. I can find all kinds of non-flex replacement nibs out there on the interwebs but my Google-Fu fails when it comes to finding a flexible replacement. Does anyone have any ideas on where I might be able to find something?

Thanks for your help folks.

You could buy another Ahab and one of the loose Goulet nibs from the Goulets, and have one for flexy writing and one for non-flexy.

I have never seen the nibs available separately - I think you have to buy a new pen.

There are some #5 nibs listed at http://fountainpenrevolution.com/fpsupplies.html, including a flexible nib of similar design as Noodler's nibs. I don't know if it's the right size for the Ahab.

From memory, but I am pretty sure the Ahab is a #6. Look at the Goulet (non-flex) nibs - they fit.

The Ahab is a #6. Those Goulet Nibs have always been my fall back if there are no flexabable nibs to be found.

However, another member sent me a PM saying he has an extra Ahab nib or two and is willing to ship them to me :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

Some people on FPN have mentioned that contacting the distributor of Noodler with a situation such as that described above has received a replacement nib section in return. I would second the suggestion to send a picture to the distributor. And keep you fingers crossed!

Also, check out isellpens.com (no affiliaition) Todd may still have some Ahab available at a nice discount. I have not checked in a while, so I will let you do the heavy work!

Good luck.

Ouch!

Let me know if you don't have any luck with getting a replacement. Perhaps we can work something out.

You can ask goulet pen if you can get a replacement nib. The only catch is you have to purchase something along with it. I had my ahab pen nib bent too. Goulet pen was nice enough to send me a replacement nib free of charge along with my purchases.

Sorry to hear about the nib issue the flex nibs are great. I have also had a few bent nibs a time or 2 I hope you can get this resolved soon.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
