Too bad that Mary B. didn't follow up on her post #17 to inform us that it was a non-starter.

For all we know it's a work in progress (which would explain why she isn't talking about it at all).

Just visited the CS factory a few days ago. Sorry, no Dr Who pen on the horizon. I think the idea has been exterminated.

I have to say that after enduring the last couple of episodes with my son, I wish the BBC would exterminate the series. It has to be the most incomprehensively written drivel on the television that I've ever had the displeasure to watch. God only knows how it attracts the following it does. All I can say is bring back Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker or, better still, Blake's 7.

Kind regards,

Tim

The two greatest Dr Whos, in my opinion. It was really good to see Tom Baker and (a still image of) Jon Pertwee in the 50th anniversary episode! The moment I heard Tom Baker's unique voice I was smiling! As for Blake's 7, yes, that is one show that deserves to be brought back, with a decent budget. Of all the SF shows of the 80's, Blake's 7 was my favourite. Maybe a Zen or Orac themed fountain pen might be a good idea.

Kevin

Gabrielle Drake, (Nick's sister) was my fave on the show. Phwoar!! :puddle:

I only vaguely remember the show -- and I know that I watched it; but my brother really liked it. Nick Drake's sister. Huh.

Of course now I'll have to go onto the "Earworm" thread because I've got "Pink Moon" running through my head....

The Sonic Screwdriver Ballpoint is available, but I'm still hoping for the fountain pen from one of the pen manufacturers. Why not, at least provide it with lights for notes in dim surroundings, and a couple of other functions. We all should have a pen like this for fun.

Oh dear I would definitely buy one if it was a fountain pen...

What about a Dalek as an inkwell?

Cyberman pen holder? And there's already a Tardis notebook.

Brilliant!

Perfect! And a K-9 paper clip holder?

Brilliant!

I hope that someday someone just goes ahead and makes a nice fountain pen in Tardis Blue :) Sounds like the closest we might come to the UK and who has the capability is Conid.

Isn't it wonderful how the mention of Doctor Who brings out the sci fi nerd in us? I've been watching the series since 1964 (as a young boy) when it first aired in Australia. Love it!

Bloody hell! This has escalated quickly. There's a collectibles shop in the old town area where I live that has an actual Darlek. It's a black one, which I believe means it's some kind of Darlek Captain. Not sure if it's for sale.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
