I don't want mine to look like a sonic screwdriver -- I want one that looks like Sarah Jane's sonic lipstick from the _Sarah Jane Chronicles_!

Of course I would then immediately have to post to Gabrielle du Vent's girly-pen thread, as the *ultimate* in femininity.... :lticaptd:

Seriously though, there has to be some way for Conway-Stewart to do this. I have a mini-Tardis which lights up at the top, that I picked up recently at Barnes & Noble on the rack of random but wicked cool mini-kits carousel that they have by the checkout counter (other items on that rack include mini zen gardens, Tarot decks, mini-Stonehenge, Spy vs. Spy figures, Wizard of Oz ruby slippers, and Harry Potter stuff -- so it's obviously feasible). The booklet that comes with the mini-Tardis relates to the 50th Anniversary stuff, because it includes info about the Tardis throughout the series up through the Matt Smith episodes.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I just picked up that minikit Tardis today. It's pretty cool. :D

Oh how I would love a pen in Tardis blue, but I think I am going to need the Doctor to bring me Donna's lottery ticket to get one. :(

Good suggestion, thank you!

I am not currently aware of the full licensing requirements to launch an official 'Doctor Who' pen commemorative, but will certainly be open to contacting the BBC to find out more information :)

Kind regards,

Mary Burke

Yes please! :)

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

1. It needs to be a piston-fill so we can reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.

2. It needs to come with a scarf. (Sized for the pen of course...)

+1... any iteration. Love this idea!

I'd suggest a Tardis themed pens as it's iconic to the series and common to all incarnations of the Doctor.

I dunno, wouldn't a sonic screwdriver pen have a bad habit of disappearing and reappearing at random places in the space-time 'continuum'? (like pens don't do that already!.... :gaah: )

If I had this device, you can be sure that I would be keeping a very close eye on it.

Just think how wonderful it would be to write "Exterminate" with the Italic nib. It could even run to a series or two with a Brigadier pen, Tardis, or one for each incarnation of the Doctor.

The Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything? 42 or Good fountain pens and Ink?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
