Pics Of The Heritage 1912 (Resin Version)

KJY

Recommended Posts

I started this topic to show you some pics of the new Heritage 1912 resin fountainpen and give you my first impressions of the performance.

It is based on the Simplo Safety Filller from 1912. MB calls it the legacy.

The pen I just got is inspired by legacy.

fpn_1375399820__img_0773_large.jpg

First impression is that it is a very small pen when capped, but when uncapped and the nib is in working order it is not that small.

I also made some comparison photo's together with the WE Christie.

fpn_1375400780__img_0819_large.jpg

The nib is 14K and also a really small nib, but don't be fooled by the size. The performance is really great. I have several FP's with B nib, but this one really glides across the paper and gives a very fluent line.

No matter if the stroke is down, side or diagonal it Always gives a good line without hesitation.

The promotional booklet calls the writing caracteristic: soft/elastic.

fpn_1375400921__img_0810_large.jpg

In the cap MB invented a way to prevent that the nib will be retracted. The sort of needle blocks the nib at the point of the feeder.

fpn_1375401805__img_0832_large.jpg

I promised myself and my wife not to buy anymore pens this year except this year's Writers Edition, but when I noticed this pen will be suited with a MOP star and the special technique I was really in doubt. (I am such a loser I know -_- )

For now a last picture of a writingsample and I want to say my special thanks to Appelboom (no affiliation only a very happy customer) for getting the pen that quick. MB started to deliver this midweek and after receiving the pen he brought it personally to me.

If more pics needed I will be glad to make some and post it here.

Thanks for watching and comments are welcome!

Hi,

Wow! That's such a nice pen. While I'm not the biggest fan of the streamline MB Meisterstück shape, I like the design of MB pens with more flat tops like this pen. My own MB has more flat top and end, and I like that. How does it fill and how does the mechanism feel? It's nice that they did the same thing that they did with the retractable Boheme and put a pin in the cap to make sure that one retracts the nib first before capping. The pin usually is made to hit a semi-circle shelf on the feed if the nib isn't retracted. Can you take more pictures of it next to the regular Meisterstück pens?

You are welcome. Good to know I am not the only one that bought this special edition.

When do you expect to receive yours and what nib size did you choose?

It's a pistonfiller. That makes it special. The technique is that turning the piston knob to retract the nib. If I pull the knob backwards till I hear a click, then the piston knob will function as the regular pistonfillers of Montblanc.

Thanks!

Ehm your request is a bit difficult. My only regular Meisterstück is a 149. That one is at the office. I will try to do that later.

That's fine, and it works out quite well since I've seen many 149 pens, so I'm familiar with the size although it's not a comfortable size for me to use. Looking forward!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
