There's enough unique bottles here to make me want to collect one of them all. All these great photos.

Here's my small, but growing, collection. Yeah, the Noodler's Navajo Turquoise was the first bottle I opened and was surprised it was filled right to the very top. Now all ink is opened flat on a desktop. I have a small collection of ink samples I didn't include-there's only 10.

Love seeing everyone's collections!

Moonman, you are off to a great start with some great inks. I'm sensing you like purples. If you want a great blue - perhaps even a replacement for the fabled Parker Penman Sapphire, take a vial and mix Navajo Turquoise with you most saturated purple.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

This is a snap of my small ink collection. I don't own the fancy ink bottles, but these keep my pens ready for writing!

Thank you and yes, I'm a purple kinda guy. That's my quest, to find the perfect purple for me. Blues I also love and many thanks for the recipe for mixing a substitute for Parker's Penman Sapphire.

WOW that's a collection. You don't own any fancy bottles? What are those two MontBlanc tops I see peeking out from either side? :)

Finally finished my late father's bottle of Quink. Decanted the last of it into a standard sized Quink bottle.

Had this bottle knocking around forever! I use many other inks, but occasionally go back for a fill of good old Quink.

I expected this bottle to run out years ago, but it just kept giving.

Now that it has gone, I can fit all my ink bottles into a regular sized box. Silver linings.

Thanks, Dad!

I need to get a couple De Atramentis. Would love a coffee scented ink-the smell of it reminds me of my grandfather even tho I'm not a coffee drinker. I believe they also sell a patchouli scented ink?

Lots of beautiful old and new ink :)

Is there a resource to see what old inks are worth? I'd assume full, unused bottles are worth more correct?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
