Thanks all for you comments, much appreciated !

And, to be honest : I also like the lengthwise lines best, although I don't dislike the latest version with the radial bands...

In the end.....they are all my babies...

I like the first one ( varying ring width) the best.

Sensitive Pen Restoration doesn't cost extra.

Francis, I agree - the lengthwise lines are my favorite! I do also like the first one (the rings with varying widths). They are all fantastic, though :)

Currently using:Too many pens inked to list, I must cut back! :) I can guarantee there are flighters, urushi, and/or Sheaffer Vac-fillers in the mix!!!

Thanks quinden !

In the end I'm also convinced the "varying ring width/equal steps" looks more balanced as the "equal ring width/decreasing steps" version.

Although the lengthwise lines also remain my favorite ..... although much more difficult to make.

looks very interesting and technical  thanks for sharing

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Thanks all for your valued input !

Looks the "varying ring width/equal steps" will be selected for production !

I expect this version will become available by mid December this year.

When interested in reserving such a pen, please contact CONID directly : werner@conid.be

Congratulations Francis

You keep on going strong.

How many types including this will now officially have reached "mass" production?

Will you be showing your bays in Tilburg, end September??

Thanks D.ick !

I don't know if CONID will ever reach the "mass" production stage.

Till now the FPR pens are made in LE series of 60 pens, while the "standard" pens are made in series of 100 pens.

In a later stage Conid hopes to produce in series of 500 pcs - bringing the fabrication cost down - but this logically depends of the sale figures...

As for the FPR Bulk fillers, Conid made a series of 60 flat op demonstrators ( all sold) and a series of demonstrators in the "streamline" and "sleek streamline" version.( still available)

For the "standard" Bulk fillers, they made "flat top" and "streamline" in black delrin.(still available)

And yes, CONID ( and myself) will surely be in London and in Tilburg this year.

At this occasion we will show the new range of streamline Bulk fillers with exchangeable barrel sleeves/bindes.

Bindes in various Hard rubber patterns, celluloid and various acrylic materials will be shown.

We will also show all the unique pre-prototypes which I've made in my shop.

Hope to see you there !

Francis

I prefer the flat top designs it reminds me of the classic models from the 1930's. Would it be possible to have some colour on the rings or cap/filling nob? Us females do not necessarily like the black parts. Vera

Hi Pelikan Vera,

No problem in installing red "posting" O rings on the filling knob.

Even making the filling knob and the cap enclosure knob in another color is feasible.

Very nice design. Still lets you look at the filling mechanism but adds and interesting pattern to the body.

In use today: MB LeGrand Pettit Prince and Aviator, Pelikan M100N, Conid First Production Run demonstrator.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
