Here's a cool little pen I picked up at the Arkansas Pen Show for a whopping $25. Very cool little pen. I love even more that it's a bulb filler.

Closed 4 7/8" - Open 4 1/2" - Posted 6 1/8".

The nib is a bit toothy but not so much to make for a bad writing experience. The barrel threads there are pretty awful looking but hopefully will hold up.

8 inside of a circle. Warranted 14k. Is it an 8 ball nib?

...The bulb. It's a bit just barely too long so I'll be replacing it pretty soon. It's good enough for now though. Sucks up ink real good.

So it's a nice soft nib - really easy to write with and makes a good line. Very wet. Low on ink and it blobs when writing. Look at the little b in bulb filler down there. Yeah - full of ink.

It's always great to see your handiwork on-screen.
Love this pen. I have a warm spot for Diamond Point pens anyway, and for bulb-fillers, and green pens, so I really like this one. Plus it sounds like you scored a real bargain.
I think your experience with burping at low ink levels is pretty standard for bulb-fillers of this generation. Same as eyedropper-fillers: they had really large capacity and very simple feeds that couldn't absorb very much surplus ink. Sometimes holding the pen nib-up and warming it in your hand before you write can help.
Enjoy, and thanks for showing this one off!

Thanks! Yeah - the green plus bulb plus flex make this one I may end up keeping inked all the time. :) I love looking at it as much as I love to doodle with it. :)

Nice pen. And thanks for the writing sample. I wish I could sketch. I am a fan of the Diamond Point pens. They may not be considered 1st tier but the ones I have seem to be quality pens that look nice. Love the flat tops. I'll post pictures when I get home.

did I say that?

No - I wouldn't say favorite - I really like it though.

I put a new sac on it, too.  One that fits properly.

It is a very nice little writing pen.

I'll end up making something similar one day.  :)

I haven't used it in over a month.

Did you take a photo of the pen after you installed a new sac and cleaned it up? Pretty sweet deal for the price! Especially for it having a gold nib.

Or is there a plan to install that nib into a Newton Pen? :)

I should take another picture.  I'll take care of that soon.  ;)

As for the nib - I like it where it's at.  :)

Great! Looking forward to seeing the picture.

I am always amazed at seeing how terrible a pen can look and how amazing it looks after being restored/cleaned. Always so much fun.

I love the look of this pen and the flexy nib.  I'm not a fan of green but it seems many vintage pens are some sort of green.

Nice find!

Thanks!

I love the old greens.

The old Sheaffer green striated balance pen is what did it to me.
