Your works of art are stunning. And I thought you were a lawyer! Seriously, I now see why this is your favourite ink. And that in an M800 tortoise!!!

Excellent review,

Yet another reason for me go get back to Flax Art(my local Edelstein connection - no affiliation other than to drop money there...), I really like this as a light brown.

I'm wondering how it will fare in the lightfast olympics. If it does well, this could become a workhorse for me.

Cheers,
Mike

This is beautiful ink. I got a penful from Amberlea yesterday for my new Tortoise M800. I had spoken with her earlier in the week, trying to decide which brown ink to try in my new brown pen. She suggested that I wait for a few days; she had a surprise coming. Well, you see the results above.

I can attest to the fact that Amberlea is an attorney. I have seen her diploma and bar admission certificate. Her office does look more like an artist's studio than an attorney's office; her work-product ends up being very colorful!

Edelstein Amber—the other Amber—should be available in the US in the next few weeks. I will be getting a bottle or two.

I think she must be a genius (shhhh!!, don't let her know that I just told you that...) My first certification of this was when -- in her beautiful wooden book case stuffed with inks, what else? -- I saw a book on SQL.

Your secret is safe with me. I may write it down so that I can remember it, but I will use Baystate Blue, which disappears very quickly with exposure to sunlight.

I do agree with your (and Goethe's) assertion about wine, but what do you do when you have a bottle that is not-quite-right, but still drinkable—I must confess that I drink it.

I drink everything except Baystate Blue. Well, I'm worried about iron-galls, too...

She probably drinks iron-gall as well.

You guys (and, of course, gals are great)! Sure, I remember that chick drinking a bottle of the new Akkermans you just ordered. How about us all meeting right in the middle of Surprise Valley?

I'm not sure where Surprise Valley is, but we are working on having a Destination Pen Posse in the Fall. Two places have been discussed, Sedona, Arizona, or Death Valley, California. We will keep you informed, if you are interested. Plistumi—who likes Akkerman ink alot—has said that she will try to make it, especially if we bring her some more Voorhout Violet. Brings a whole new meaning to BYOB.

Right on! Surprise Valley (AFAIK exactly covering the border between CA and NV) is another name for Death Valley, just for that reason. There, there's more surprises than deaths. OTOH, I know that no car rentals or insurances will cover any visits there... so... we'll all have to bring our inks in well isolated coolers.

Just fly into Las Vegas. You can stay in Amberlea's caboose—so to speak. I have a Jeep we can drive—or my BMW motorcycles. ethernautrix will probably try to commandeer one of the Bimmers, though.

Sheesh!!

Mike - you can rent a car, but I'll drive you in the Land Cruiser. Though depending on the day, maybe we'll borrow a Corvette. If I'd had 10k lying around today, I'd have bought a Corvette. Sigh. My midlife crisis is happening. I need a sports car and a trophy husband.

A tad younger. Essence of Spire helps of course. With some Jarl on the old Cornflakes, every now and again.
