I'm from Brisbane Australia, just out of the main city, so I can tell you how long it'll take to reach me. I'm like more than 40 mins drive from the city. If its still open, count me in. :)

Fountain pens are like weapons. They just make your pocket bleed so much.

I'm beginning to think this was a scam.....? You can remove my name - I don't feel comfortable giving you any of my details. Thanks anyway.

Let's see... You come here and your first post is asking for free pens. Then your second post is calling a giveaway a scam. What gives, man? I'm not trying to be rude, but the OP originally needed some information about shipping times, etc. Then, when he worked it out, he still offered to give away some free pens. Apparently he got busy and didn't get around to giving us anything. It was a lottery system anyway where he was going to draw names so your chances of actually getting a pen were pretty slim.

That's like going to the soup kitchen and complaining that it's chicken noodle instead of tomato. Or playing the lottery and complaining that you didn't win.

I think it's pretty rude of you to come here, ask for free pens and then accuse a member of scamming people.

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

Thanks for standing up for me like that!

Gosh! Why would someone call it a scam, of all things?!?!

I am giving away free pens. And I will do the lottery bit when I get the time. I have already posted that now it is not about shipping times anymore, its just a giveaway to share Indian pens with the community. I will get around to it when I can. Right now I am more concerned with shipping the pens that people have actually paid for!

Yeah fair call mate - I apologise to all and especially madmax. I was in a bad headspace last night with some personal business and shouldn't have been posting at all. I retract my statement re scam (not that that's at all possible in the way of the web but you know what I mean). My comment of opting out of the lottery still stands.

No worries! Didn't mean to jump on you or anything. I just wasn't sure what your motives exactly were, but we have ALL been in bad places and said things we shouldn't have. I understand if you don't want to be part of the giveaway though. Hope you'll stick around and I hope that things get much better for you.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
