Incredible thread!

Some amazing pens in here :)

Two weeks ago I fired up some fountain pens for the first time in about three years. It sure feels good to be back, doing a bit of writing again.

Here is a writing sample of a Bexley America the Beautiful with a Richard Binder 0.9 stub. The ink is Noodler's Army Green.

Included a pic of the Lamy Safari 1.9 mm as well, always liked the Safari a lot.

Bobje, thanks a lot! I'll try to contribute there in the future, I need to get in some practice first though, feels pretty rusty at this point as it's literally been years since I last used a fountain pen  :)

(Not to mention, I see you've got Ken Fraser posting there, so what do you need me for  :D)

Most of my pens are med and fine, one or two EF, and I got to looking and writing is kind of blah, so decided to try some stubbs.  I had one or two in a cheaper pen, so ordered off ebay a Pelikan bold for a  M400, and a 1.5 stubb for a M200,  When I realized it was the same vendor I asked if he could combine shipping and he did one better and threw in a 2mm stubb.   When I got them they simply would not write, and felt very scratchy when trying to write.  I could get a little ink delivery by holding the nib beyond vertical, but not much, so I got out my micromesh, with the nib in an inked pen and started and almost immediately got ink delivery.  I basically "micro" broke sharp edges and rounded the bottom and corners and am blown away at the smoothness and line variation especially when signing my name.    I still write quite a few checks and like it for signatures, not too good for entering figures in a checkbook, so will carry a ballpoint for that.

Regards

Jeff

Thanks. Diamine Sapphire Blue is very nice! Typically I don't particularly enjoy blue inks that are leaning towards red, but there's something about this ink :)
