My favorite fountainpen at this moment is my Black Cross Townsend with two-tone golden nib. Smooth, wet, heavy and quite large. I love the smoothness of this nib and the weight/ balance of this pen. :bunny01:
I also own a steel Townsend and it also writes nice but different.
Recently I noticed both have a number on the threaded part of the pen.Is this a code? Does it tell us productionyear? Or.......?

Hi, My latest Cross 'Bailey' also has a number just above the thread, it shows '0611'.
If it's the date of manufacture, then that would be make sense, if it takes a year to get from factory to shop, could be right.
Was just going to post this, but then checked in my slightly older 'Aventura' and that also has the number '0311' marked in the black plastic above the thread, hadn't noticed it before.
