Are these pens "limited editions" or "special editions"? i.e. are there a set number made each year or are they only sold within a limited time frame?

I'd be thrilled with some kind of purple!

I'm kicking myself for missing the turquoise last year...my favorite colour! :headsmack: Somewhat unwilling to pay double the retail price just for a different colour... I'm trying to hold off on ordering any more ink or pens from anywhere other than eBay until I know what's coming out and if I need to add it to the collection or not!

I could go for purple! Any shade, really.

And an ice green AL-Star would be a treat, too, if anyone's listening? :puddle:

Highlighter yellow? Mmmmmm, not sure on that.

iamchum - have a look in OfficeWorks if you can. Noticed in one here in Canberra they had the fountain pen and rollerball still available. Of course, normal Australian retail price so $$, but they are getting scarce now.

Florescent yellow? :(

Any pictures so we can see it?

Disappointing, as this may be the year i don't buy a limited safari as silver clip with fluorescent yellow doesn't sound too good (I have the pink one though and don't like that, so who knows :) )

Sorry guys, but I couldn't take out my BlackBerry for a snapshot while I was browsing the brochure.Went for an F nib for my Safari and the two people in charge known nothing about FP inks, I show the anti- forgery properties of X-Feather Noodler's ink and watched my demonstration with open jaw :).They gave me Free a new Lamy magic eraser or tintenkiller.

In case you are still interested, the aquamarine Safari (along the pink from 2010) is still available in the HK store Stationery Art without that much of a markup , I have purchased two Pilot 78g there and their shipping rate/time is fairly reasonable. Anyway, I managed to snap one of the last Turquoise one in the Maryland based Penboutique back in September.

After the recent run of green variations (lime, aquamarine, apple), I hope they're not now looking to explore yellow in all of its yellowness. A purple Safari probably wouldn't be one I reach for often, but that seems like the obvious missing color in the spectrum of Safaris.

My suggestion is to honor the original Safari colors, savannah green and terracotta orange, with something akin to wilderness and adventure: khaki. Then again, that might be perceived as yellowish. :headsmack:

Still have my first Safari, a savannah green, but the cap had been replaced one but the colour of the barrel isn't the same. My FB is retired of service because the cap doesn't clip or close tightly as brand new,a ring of masking tape need for a quick fix.I would like to have again another limited edition of Savannah green and terracotta orange will be a winner.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
