3D Printing

there has been some talk of 3d printing on the FPN before. the most notable thread was this one where they were able to reproduce a working pen.
i know some people with the makerbot home printers and i dont think technology is quite ready yet to print parts up in your own home just yet, but it probably will be up to snuff to making good parts within the next 5 to 10 years. i could see this technology as being especially useful in reproducing feeds and other damage prone parts.

is anyone on here interested in starting some open source pen parts projects?
