Wahl Eversharp Quiz Round 2

Recommended Posts

A week ago, the first 5 questions and a tie-breaker question in the Wahl Eversharp Quiz were posted. Sad, but only 5 people or about 5% of viewers have chosen to join in. This is an open book quiz! There is no penalty for guessing! And wrong answers will not be held up for the classs to see! So what's the problem?!

The idea is to learn something about the Wahl-Eversharp brand. There is a lot of information on the web about the brand, and so it was hoped those not sure of answers would go look up the info and join in.

It is not too late to answer the first 5 questions and this 5 and rally before it is all over next Sunday.

OK Here are this weeks's Questions. Don't be surprised in you have to take full advantage of the open book aspect of this quiz for these!

1) How many patterns of the All Metal Pen were there? (no names just the number of patterns. The closest number to the actual will get credit for this)

2) In what year did Hard Rubber Pens disappear from the Wahl Eversharp Line-Up of models?

3) How many filler system types were available for Wahl-Eversharp pens over the years?

4) When did the Lifetime Guarantee for certain Wahl Eversharp pens commence?

5) What manufacturer was the supplier of the overwhelming majority of the plastic pen material used by Wahl-Eversharp and what was the name Wahl Eversharp used for this plastic material in their catalogs and ads?

Tie Breaker: What Radio Shows did Wahl-Eversharp sponsor (name at least 2)

Good luck! remember a working Wahl Eversharp Pen goes to the winner!

Thanks from me, too, Syd! You had me checking every pen book I own to find some answers :)

I sent in my answers to rounds 1 and round 2, and am looking forward to seeing what the answers are, even if I bomb on the quizzes

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
