Hi,

I think it would be better to remove the metal ring on the grip section. The ring is another thing that may corrode or get damaged.

Good recommendation! will do so

I'd suggest the name Matrix. Both for it's geological significants, as well as tie ins with the Diamond name, and its significance within the printing world in typesetting.

You have to start with a matrix to get a diamond, and also have to start with a matrix to get a published page. Lots of play here.

I really enjoy the design of what you've posted here, will be watching this closely. So far in this hobby(I am very green) I've already come to really enjoy the product offerings from your company. Looking to make the Diamond(or possibly this new pen) my second fountain pen purchase(ever!)

Cheers

I love the pen, especially the clear demonstrator. I would also love to see some solid colors with this pen!

Speedy,

Another winner here! The names suggested by our fellow correspondents are indeed great, I was thinking of something different: "Trinity", or "Magi" for obvious reasons! But then Camlin has already got the Trinity name :(

No, I am not going to list my pens here.

How about "TWSBI Neo" (like new, neophite, newbie...)?

Wow, nice sleek/clean look and I'm impressed that the entry level pen will be a piston filler. As for a name, I'd suggest the TWSBI Alpha. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and has been traditionally used to represent a beginning (and conversely, Omega an end). As this pen is targeted at enticing someone to start into fountain pens, I think TWSBI Alpha works well.

Adding a pen in this price range is a great idea. And I actually like the model with the white cap and barrel.

In terms of names, I'd second "Neo."

Look forward to getting one of these.

This is a neat prototype. The clip is a bit too large for my taste, but the gap between the barrel and the section looks too big.

This said, for $30, it seems you have a winner.

How about "Discovery", "Initial" or "Introitus" as a name ?

Fantastic pen - love both versions of it. I think the metal ring on the grip section is perfect for the demonstrator - brings a balance to the pen. Only problem I see with it is the potential for corrosion from the ink over a long period of time. The lovely white one would look nicer without the metal but in it's place I'd put a raised ring there of the same material and colour. Really like the translucence of it as well.

Love many of the names suggested here but my favorite is the TWSBI Neo.

Although I like "Neo", it's been mentioned to you before on your Facebook page and in an above post here.

My 2 cents on the name would be TWSBI "Eko" or "Eco" in reference to this being the economic and introductory model for the company.

Great looking pen!

I can't help you on the name, myself, except to applaud all those great suggestions. So many would work. Alpha might be my favorite.

As for Neo, Sailor has a "Neo High Ace" already. And what's with all the suggestions from "The Matrix"? Funny.

It looks great! I second the TWSBI Quartz or Neo suggestions.

Currently using:Too many pens inked to list, I must cut back! :) I can guarantee there are flighters, urushi, and/or Sheaffer Vac-fillers in the mix!!!

Looks really good.

I want a TWSBI, but the 540 is slightly out of my budget. This would be a great alternative.

A 1.1 nib would be amazing.

Love TWSBI and have many 540s. However, I'm getting tired of your offerings only being demonstrator/semi-transparent. How about some opaque barrels for a change??? How about adding some opaque colors? Please give us some options. I can only own so many demonstrators!

Unrelated: any notice on when the Mini will be available?

Very soon

I've been waiting and waiting . . .

Oh and nib units for the Vac 700. Would be nice to get a 1.1 for my Vac!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
