I'm trying to do lines. So far I've been able to do one page at a time, front and back, then I think my printer gives up. I just need patience to get the job done, one page, break, one page....

I have only tried a few pages of this paper it was given to me by a fellow FPN member as a gift. I am sure sometime in the future when money is less tight I will buy some but from the samples pages I have tried my first thought as far as lines is a guide sheet my second thought is screen printing. Small screen printing sets can be purchased relatively cheap and are easy to use but slow. The advantage with screen printing is that you are only handling the paper in a flat state no trip down and around the rollers of the printer. The main challenge to overcome is registering the paper so that printing is consistent but I am sure that would be easily overcome. Just my 2 cents worth and something to keep you all scratching your head.

Hennypenny -

My package arrived today. Everything in excellent condition. I've left the paper in the envelope for now - I'm thinking I will take it to a print shop, with a nice top paper to make a cover, to have it cut and bound. I'm looking forward to having two books made from it. Only then will I start using it...

Anyhow I wanted to say thanks for your efforts in getting me this paper. It is very much appreciated. And the shipping went fine. :cloud9:

I took my stash to a print/copy shop yesterday to have it cut in half and bound. I'd bought a nice cover in a slightly thicker paper, and made two books with a simple ring cover (plastic) so it will open fully. I'm still thinking I want to find a cover to hold it all together, I have some ideas where to look, but here in Curaçao my options are limited... and this is something I do not want to buy online.

HennyPenny, I can't begin to thank you enough for all your time, care, and overall generosity! My paper arrived in perfect condition...like others, I tantalized myself, waiting a couple of days to open the package until I had enough time to really savor this gorgeous paper. It is absolutely lovely! :cloud9:

A friendly postcard exchanger sent me a few sheets to try - this is an incredibly good paper. Can't believe the lack of bleed through given it is quite light weight. Smooth to the nib - a beautiful writing sheet. Now if it could be just another 10gsm or so heavier and white...............

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
