Wality Eyedropper Multi Color Drawing Set!

So I always wanted to have multiple pens with multiple color inks to draw with. I have very expensive tastes in pens so it always would have cost me a fortune--LOL I was on Ebay and saw these large Wality eyedroppers I thought would be perfect--around $50 for ten--I could do that! When I got them the nibs were too fine and scratchy. So I went to Miester nibs and got ten steel Broad nibs to replace them--a little expensive but worth it! --only problem they are not a direct swap. I had to file out the section a little. Well, You have to do it just enough or the pen just drips ink! So I only ruined one! The rest work great. The ink is Platinum Mix-free which when you hit it with a water brush turns to gorgeous watercolor like colors. I put all of them in a nice new Global canvas pencil case from my local art supply store{ I am in love with these cases} and I was off today to draw in Central park!! It is not fall yet but some of my drawings feel like it because i was in love with this orange I mixed. Oh and each pen has a circle label on the cap to show the color inside!

That is totally cool idea! I never really thought of doing that. The air work is really nice too. I have a Airmail Wality 58c coming from Fountain Pen Revolution. He has some Airmail Walitys that he sells with medium nibs.

Do not let old pens lay around in a drawer, get them working and give them to a new fountain pen user.

Great idea and very nice art en plein air work. I've done something very similar but I bought the Platinum Preppys with fine nibs and converted them to eyedroppers. It's great to have so much ink in one place without having to dip every few seconds when sketching.

Nice art as usual stevlight. I had a set of Rotring CC fillers I used in the same manner as you but finally got frustrated with my colors darkening from evaporation.

Your E.D. fillers are the best way to go as you can easily add water if needed.

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

you can fit the #6 meister nib without any modifications to the pen, if you cut/grind away 7mm off the tail of the nib.

NOW you tell me!!

Thanks for sharing ... the eyedroppers hold "tons" of ink and they are all demonstrators so you can see the ink level ... Cool idea ...

Very nice artwork and what a cool idea to modify and use the Wailty pens for your drawings. Thank you for sharing, Steve!

I actually do remember you mentioning it--I was just joking.

Filing down inside the plastic sections just seemed easier then cutting and filling metal.

I feel happy that a noted artist like you chose to employ our Humble local Wality for your art. I think the owners of Wality will be very happy to hear this, I will inform them.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
