I own two 800's -- green stripe (with matching ballpoint pen, pencil, and rollerball pen) and transparent green demonstrator (with matching ballpoint pen and pencil); I like sets. :clap1: Each of my 800's have smooth, fat medium nibs that make GREAT lines and they are nice, wet writers.

I do not own any 1000's.

As an accurate answer to the question: one M805 and that's it.

I own only 2 M1000, a green Stresemann and the 75th anniversary pen.

My real obsession are the 800s. I own 45 at the moment including the limited editions and the Toledos in this size. And I'm waiting for the delivery of the yellow M910 and made just a preorder for the silver 910, which shall come out next month as special edition. People, who think I'm crazy, are wrong; it's a disease

Currently have:

M1000 green-stripe (with a 3B CI by Binder- thanks, Mike!)

M805 blue-stripe (BB CI by Tyler Dahl)

M800 old-style green-stripe (M)

M605 solid blue (with old-style M600 OBB CI by Mottishaw)

M400 old-style green stripe (with M flex)

..I think that's it, IIRC.

Have had:

M205 clear and blue demonstrators (with M, B, and stock italic nibs)

M200 black (M)

M215 rings (M stub)

M600 old-style green-stripe (with B stub)

M805 black (with XXF Waverly by Binder...was WAYYYY too narrow for me)

several other nibs (F CI, B, BB, etc. for various pen sizes)

Plan to get, at some point:

M1005 demonstrator (with B nib...some custom grind)

M800/ 805 (not sure what color yet, definitely striped though)

vintage birds of some sort with flexy nibs

a brown/ white tortoise

LOVE my Pelikans! The larger models M800 and M1000 definitely work better for me, but I still love them all. :) I'm sure I'll have at least a few more over the years. How could I not?

I'm impressed! We can rationalize and not call it a disease or obsession; just a STRONG appreciation! thumbup.gif

I forgot the vintage (one each):

100N marbled green

400 green stripes

400N green stripes

400NN green stripes

130 green black (arrived this morning)

It all started end of summer of 2008.

Just joined FPN, entered a small in my village gift/tobacco/newspaper shop and found a lonely NOS (W.Germany, pre-90) blue marbled M200 for 50€.

Yes, one (plus access to FPN) is enough to start a new addition...

A little off topic...does anyone know where I can purchase body/cap only for my spare nibs? I know Binder sells them but I'm hoping to find them for less $$ if possible.

I agree! I have always loved fountain pens, but I have learned so much about them after joining this site. Obviously that knowledge comes with a price...MORE PENS!!!puddle.gif

Here's mine

Three M1000s'.... a Black, a Green Stripe and a Demonstrator with a Broad Stub, an M and M nib respectively. The Stub was custom ground from a B the others are stock factory and super smooth.....love them all.

Five M800s'.... a Black, a Red Stripe a Blue Stripe and two Green Stripes. Nibs are three stock Bs', one B is from the 90s and is fractionally the smoother, a Medium and a BB ground to a Stub. Without exception they are all great writers and the Stub is a lot of fun.

Two M100Ns with a Soft B and and an OBB..... the SB is to die for, the OBB is fantastic but i dont

An M101N Tortoise B.

All loved but my desert island choice will be ....Mmmm, that's a question I'd rather not consider but if pushed hard it would be .... the M100N SB and if I could have a second choice it will have to be the M1005 filled with Appleglory.

My sentence about the OBB seems to have got cut-off... must be self-inflicted operator error!

It should have continued.... But I don't reach for this nib as often as for the others..... perhaps because it always takes me a few minutes to get it orientated to my hand!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
