I see you have the MSRP and Goulet customer price for the SS FP. Do you have similar info for the SS ballpoint and rollerball? Inquiring Lamy 2000 fans want to know...

MSRP: $135 ballpoint, $150 rollerball. (Our price would be 20% off of MSRP)

...We've also got the Pelikan M800 Tortoise coming out later in the year...

Do you have a source for this?

There is an article on this in the Pelikan Forum. Several retailers jumped the gun and had announcements out before Pelikan was ready and apparently were forced to take them down. I haven't seen an firm price yet, just speculation so far.

I do not really like this pen. I have tried to like the Lamy but nope I find it ugly and cheap looking. It writes like butter but it just looks awful.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

Way too much for a Lamy 2000... I expect 18k gold, or god forbid, 23k Pd nib for this kind of price. Stainless steel doesn't do it for me.

Bob Nurin of Lamy USA said at the Miami show that he might be seeing them in August but didn't have a firm date.

The listings on eBay and Amazon are at MSRP-20% (ie $299) exclusive of shipping. I paid 40% off MSRP, including Euro to USD exchange and shipping from Germany and still thought this was a bit high, though it is doubtful that we'll see a substantially lower price. The (well-respected) vendor also had the new matching ballpoint. I haven't caught a sighting of the rollerball for sale yet, though. The price quoted by the Goulets matches the price I saw in Germany, so I plan to buy from them when the BP/RB hit the US.

I'm already planning a rundown review comparing the 2012 stainless steel to the standard FP and the 2000 Edition pens to see how it stacks up. I love the 2000 and the 2000 Edition, so I'm very much looking forward to trying the 2012 edition.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
