The Shocking Blue has great sheen!

Here you go:

I think the sheen will come out more with the moss when it will run lower in the M600.

This shows it a bit better color vise:

To all which still know Caribbean Sea and wonder why it is so dark, it sits already quite a long time in this eyedropper with its huge capacity and it´s getting darker and become even a little bit of sheen.

May I - gauchely - comment on my own post?

Seeing this photo, I'm struck by how similar these two pens look: the overall shape, the proportions of the caps and sections, the mostly-hooded nibs. Yet they still seem to belong to different fountain-pen eras ...

Huh.

Interesting! Something to be said for Good Design!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Over the holidays I was playing with different papers, these little sketch pads from Hobby Lobby are extremly thin paper, but do not bleed through or feather.... great for a quick note... also picked up a ream (400 sheets) of Ology 20# copy paper, the sugar cane husk and bamboo variety and it too works great. I am making some tablets out of that... fpn_1388730128__random_thoughts.jpg

And, I took some time and cleaned a spot for my inked pens... and made use of that box all those christmas cards came in...as long as I keep the herd seven or less I am good...

You'll not regret it. I'm sketching all the time with the "Sepia Grey Black" and it writes a nice thank you letter too.

Most of my pens were bought used, vintage etc with a few exceptions like a couple of Pilots and TWSBIs.

I love holding a piece of history and wondering who or what has been written or drawn what with it.

The Visconti really was a Christmas indulgence and would never dream of normally spending that amount on pen - although now that I'm using the fella I find it's soooo addictive. I can now see where all the Pelikan, Mont Blanc etc fanatics get their buzz from . . .

First post in this section and I'm deeply embarrassed about my writing (I promise it's usually nicer). It was a spur of the moment thing. I'm going to post before I lose my nerve! :P

PotD: Hero 184 with 14k nib. I love (relatively) inexpensive Chinese pens... and I love bling.. and this pen is slim and pretty. I am -not- particularly happy with the writing experience. I'm going to twiddle around with the nib and maybe switch out the feed (I have 6 of these 184s with interchangeable bits.

Ink is Noodler's Walnut.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
