I supposedly won one on FP Geeks, but they never returned any of my emails or a pm. So I guess I didn't. Which is disappointing.

So I guess I won't be getting one. :)

I will wait for the Goulets to have them in stock. I would rather not endure the scenic route FedEx fiasco I had with the Micarta. Plus I want to order some ink and a nib and paper and some samples and a vial holder and....

Saw the news on facebook. I'll wait for you guys to get yours before I order mine, I want to know how well it posts. I will never buy a pen I can't post. Also waiting for the Goulets to have them, I have other things to order from them.

I might wait just so they can hammer out the inevitable quality issues.

Same here.

I'll probably wait until these are available on eBay/amazon as I don't see them there yet. I just got an amazon gift card that i've been saving for this. :)

Cool, I've been holding off on a big order from you guys to get everything in one order. You need to start a Goulet Prime system ;)

Anyone else buying one too!?

Not anymore, I've been waiting quite some time, in the meanwhile I have lost interest in that project and invested my money in more exciting pens. But I guess TWSBI doesn't need me as a buyer anyway.

Happy writing for you all!

Greetings,

Michael

Just did! Two of them. Blue and Amber. :cloud9:

I feel kind of like a jerk, because I didn't wait to get them from the Goulets. I could have handled waiting until next Wednesday - but they said there were going to be limited quantities, and the thought of maybe having to wait even longer made me crack.

I'm a writer. I use pens a lot. And I really need these. I mean, I was starting to get panicky about when I was going to be able to get my hands on a couple of them. I'll probably buy more later. The Smoke is tempting, and I'd like a Clear, too. I wish they offered them with Cursive Italic nibs out of the box, but maybe I'll send one or two of them out for that. Anyway, now I'm going to be pacing back and forth, glancing out the window, peering into the mailbox, and chewing my nails until they get here. TWSBI is usually pretty good about getting them out quickly, but the USPS seems to have slowed down a lot lately. (I had one pen take longer to reach me from 30 miles away than I've waited for pens that were shipped from Europe...)

I want my Vacs. I need them. I'm trembling. No, I don't have a problem. I just need my Vacs... ;)

Still with unanswered question. Does it post (effectively)? If not, don't want one.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

What does that mean? Do you just want the cap to stay on when posted? Do you want it to post on the barrel and not the piston knob?

when will ISellPens have it?

It should be free shipping from Todd at the current price, cheapest option to get this

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing

For me, as long as it posts firmly it's good.

Posting on the knob won't be as problematic as on the 540, unscrewing the knob won't make the plunger advance.

Well, unless someone else does first, I will let you know as soon as I get mine. :)

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

This was asked on their Facebook page. Here was the reply:

"You can post it, but we don't recommend that. It's not designed to do so."

...and I post mine every time I use it. Let's wait until we can try it-- THEN we can start fighting about whether it's a good idea or not. I will admit that the profile of the pen seems to suggest against it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
