Platinum Solid Silver Pts-50000 B Nib

Beautiful pen.

By the way, the sticker on the box (太字) translates to "Thick character", roundabout, the Japanese version of a B. As for the manual, there're way too many kanji I don't know. As for the construction, I think it might have been extruded, or something roundabout. It's the usual way to make metal pieces like that without using an entire chunk of metal. If you use it, how long does it take to empty a cartridge?

Thanks!

I have been using it but not exclusively. It is in my rotation. I am using Platinum Cartridges with it, the cart has a pretty large ink capacity s compared to their converter. My guess is that the cart would last atleast 6 sides of a A4 sheet with this B nib.

Best

I just got my Platinum Stripe Sterling Silver with an F nib. I find this pen bo be manufactured very precisely and solidly. This is a great addition to my other sterling silver pens.

Congratulations Hari! I have the same pen, and you can interchange nib/sections with the 3776 pens..........I have a music nib in mine at the moment! The Platinum music nibs are by far the best - in my estimation!

Use it in good health for many years to come!:bunny01:

Thank you Chris, Pen2009. Chris, that is neat, I must try fitting the section from my 3776 music to this pen.

Would you let me know how you can change the nib sections among #3776 pens? I have several #3776 pens with different nibs. By looking at my differnt #3776 models, I could not see how the nib section of each #3776 model could be interchanged.

Hi 'Pen2009'!

If your 3776 pens are c/c fillers, then you just unscrew the barrel as if you were going to fit a cart or access the converter, and fit another barrel. Easy as that. The cap will fit - all will be the same except that you will have another nib size to use.

I thought #3776 Celluloid, #3776 Briarwood, #3776 Makie and etc have different sections. So, would you mean this nib exchange only applicable for the same type of #3776 pens?

Going back to Platinum Stripe Silver, it looks very classy compared to Pilot Silvern. I think the flat top and barrel end makes it more traditional style. I like all of my silver pens as each of them has a different feel to it.

I agree - you can only switch between pens with the same shaped sections and nibs. I have black resin and the solid silver - and they interchange happily!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
