Hope I'm not stepping on any toes by posting this. Just curious. This is unofficial.

I'll cast my vote for the Glenmont.

ETA: I'm not sure the overlay pens are possible on a group buy.

I agree with you. I figured it would make more sense to add them to the poll. Then if they aren't the top pens selected, no bother. If they are, we can ask Brian and if he says no go with the next most popular vote.

Thank you for doing this. Rachel has a good point. Who is going to organize the mechanics of this? Who will take in the money and ship out the pens? The was the NMPCC did it last year was the President ChiTown handled everything, including the negotiation with Brian at Edison. We, club members, fully trusted Mike to run with the ball. He did an outstanding job and we're all pleased with the results. Are the FPN Admins willing to step itn like they did with Eturia and Passporto sale earlier? Jim

Can you make it such that we could select several?

The beginning of this seemed to be that the FPN admins were willing to tolerate this discussion on their site but probably were not willing to make this a FPN endeavour.

I've been checking out the kickstarter site. It looks like it would work to collect the $$$

The caveat is that if Brian is willing to fund it this way, a $200 pen would end up costing us about $220 once Amazon and Kickstarter get paid.

Hmm...this could work if we could keep the price of each individual pen around $100. Beyond that, I predict hesitance on the part of the FPN and Kickstarter communities.

The other option is a trusted FPNer to collect the funds.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
