This is a really useful format Patrick - can you do this in Midiouri TN size? or do you think there simply wouldnt be enough space?

thanks

I start to realize that space means very differently to different people, check out this crazy mod by a student, which has almost no space to write: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54052010@N05/6660250359/in/photostream

What's the layout you have in mind for a Chronodex GTD combo in Midori's Traveler's Notebook?

It was the addition of the action points/to do list/priorities lists that I really liked. :)

I've been fooling around with Lau Velasquez's jpegs and my pens and Patrick's brilliant idea. I'm having a lot of fun.

And I even remembered to turn in some tedious, work-related paperwork, because of my Chronodex!

I was using some of these to mark important dates, and I wondered if you had ever used them, Patrick.

Book darts

No affiliation, it struck me as something you might find aesthetically pleasing. One good turn deserves another.

HildyZ, I'm actually a big fan of Book Darts, I use it all the time, love the fact that it oxidizes upon usage :) So thin and non intrusive, not like any other bookmarks or clips that wrinkles paper.

And wow, thanks for making Chronodex useful, it is your hard work that counts. Do make the best use of it and create a habit while it is flash, the important first few weeks.

Do share on Facebook.com/chronodex page if you feel comfortable.

Me, too. I have a couple Book Darts where time and oxidation created an impression of my own fingerprint. I think that's cool.

Thank you so, so much. The Chronodex works the way my poor, non-linear mind works. I'd struggled (and always stopped) using traditional designs largely because I just don't think in paragraphs and sentences. I honestly believe I think in graphics and small amounts of text and lines joining related ideas and colour classifying the time spent on different tasks. All of these spin around the Chronodex wheel on a daily basis. Fantastic!

Bless you and my thoughts are with you and your parents.

Dear All,

Here's an update.

Computer Active from UK reported the free PDF download:

I've made dozens of stamps (rubber of self-inking) and see if it is possible to get a good price vs. quality stamp for you to do mind mapping or Chronodexing:

Dear all Chronodex users,

You've been waiting for July-December version to come out and here you go!

Scroll down to the download section and find the version you like (Hong Kong holiday, Japanese holiday, no holidays. I'm working on a Korean holiday version)

Do let me know if there is any error.

There is a Facebook page to share your usage experience and tip: https://www.facebook.com/chronodex

In the mean time, read about An Embryologist's Chronodex, a recent blog post about Simon Ward's adventure with Chronodex.

I have used Chronodex on and off for a while, but the differences in the Middle Eastern work week made it difficult for me. When I contacted Patric this week he generously produced an ME version where the work week starts on Sunday. The photo below was snapped with an iPhone but I will get a proper foto sometime this week.

A little update:

Here you can see the Date Free Middle East version Patrick created for me. Yeah, it's a bit of a schlep filling in dates but you can't really expect him to maintain a separate version for a handful of people. Also, it really takes 2 minutes per week to date the week's sheets.

Okay, after playing around the whole weekend I have some comments:

1. The cut lines pre printed on the pages is somewhat superfluous. My reasoning is this: You cut the sheets, then fold them, then sew them (or staple, whatever you prefer) and then at the end you have to trim the edges again to make them neat. For me it is much easier to fold the full A4 size, measure 110mm from the fold, draw one line and cut once. That way the edges are very neat.

2. I made a 2 month planner consisting of one signature (set of pages sewn together), well not sewn yet since my book binding tools will only arrive on the 18th. I had to do the imposition of the pages manually since I have no software or formula to tell me which parts of the week should be turned upside down or how weeks should be split across pages so that they appear in the correct order when flipping the pages. Adobe InDesign does NOT help with this at all. So I finally have an inkling of the effort Patrick puts into a 6 month planner. You have my sincerest appreciation, Patrick.

OK I cannot figure out why my printer is not allowing me to print the Chronodex correctly. I have looked around online and have tried all sorts of settings only to end up with a stack of messed up attempts.

I have a Canon MX860 printer and the back side of the paper does not align with the front side so when I go to fold it is not correct. Anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

Hey I agree with point 1! Following the cut line exactly will create slant edges once you fold and stapled all the pages together because there is the thickness. Great idea to somehow indicate the cut line but not having it distinct graphically. I'll see if I can have it done in the next release for 2013! The current format is probably easier to understand for most people, not perfect though.

It will be a self-inking stamp free of dates, so any notebook can be turned into a diary except that you have to mark your dates at the center of the circle. Working on it, here's a link showing how it will eventually look, sort of:

How did that Chronodex ink stamp work?

Hey sorry to come back to you late. I hope at least you have the page sequence printed correctly.

MX860 has duplex printing, It has to do with centering the document on every page when you print, I don't know if there is such option, but please only try a few pages at a time.

These might help you:

Hope this helps.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
